Erni sent me a couple of things over the last three months:

In his urban explorations, he picks up things he knows I'll love and sends them. These include numerous beautiful squashed cans from the street, a few of which are shown above, most especially the exquisitely rusted one which has "RUST NEVER SLEEPS"  on the lid--the lid still attached and not imploded! Amazing.…

This morning when I returned from a trip to the post office and supermarket and bakery and green grocer and... well, when I returned to the apartment building, there on my door buzzer, next to my name, was this little "non-delivery" notice...from the courier service of ELTA! Wow! That is rare.…

A long day last Friday which ended in a surprise.  We got home very late (or early in the morning) from seeing the Paris avant premiere of "The Iron Lady" which was a good film but I fell asleep 3 times.  Meryl Streep was fab in the role of Margaret Thatcher.  Too tired to go to sleep we chatted awhile in the kitchen when I noticed that I still had not opened Erni’s package. …

Can anyone guess who sent me this!  Yes, that is fresh Mayonnaise on our kitchen cupboards, and wait, there is more, and more, and more.  Up to 2 meters (6 feet) high up the walls on the other side of the kitchen as well.

I went into shock and had to be rushed to the MAYO clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  My wife was left behind to take pictures of the crime…

Been delayed in the unusual European winter weather perhaps,

a package from Erni in Hamburg usually takes only 48 hours to reach Greece, it took 2 weeks...

but it arrived ( er, was "picked up" at the post office,) TODAY...my day!…

Yes, a B side of Erni ready for the battle of the Bar codes.  What I really like the most about this piece is that the support is made from beer packaging with an original bar code.  A sign of the times for his Fan Club.  Thank you for the support you have given me.…

When I lived in Germany, Frau Weleda was my landlady and would give me brandy & coke every month when I came to pay my rent.  Little did I know at the time that later in life, I would be recieving Mail Art from her Grandson or that George Clooney would be runing for president of the Erni Fan club.  Amazing how life gives us so many wonderful things.  Thank you very much Erni for this piece, but wait!  There's a B side as well…

Two large packages arrived from the Haptic Werewolf today. Well, one arrived in my mail box, the other I had to pick up at the local post office...odd.…

And because Erni Bar believes I have enough trash-brains (his term), he sent me his worn-out black shoes: He's right, and he sent these to the right person. A large envelope arrived from Erni Bär in Germany. The stampsheets I sent him are returned in this large envelope full with messages. You won't see me angry when someone sends a gift like this. The Erni Bär Fan Club stamps are now formally in the TAM Rubberstamp Archive in Breda!

Wow Erni there is major Mail Art in this package.  I don't really know what to say.  All six senses are covered, and with film rights the seventh will be covered too.  This is surely several levels up from my cards.  I'll need to shift gears to even come close.  The timing is perfect, these are the last little touches for my Halloween dinners.

This work of art deserves to be seen in 12 glossy photos which I will shortly display.
