Received beautiful post from Claire Dinsmore yesterday. I was really careful not to damage it, as I slit the horizon with a scissor blade. It is grey in Suffolk today and the muted colours are in absolute synchronicity with my view. Can you see that my painted desktop even matches. I have some cabbages growing through the gate…

This is my FIRST piece from Dean. And I had to, kind of, solicit it... You'll notice that I put the back first in the lineup of images. It's not that I don't like the front or don't understand what…

Such a fun piece from Carina! My daughter was back from Uni to have a Thanksgiving meal with us (she's half American) and as I just told Katerina in the arty slides domain, she was a big Disney fan in her youth. She is also a lover of everything French and of…

I love getting a smorgasbord of mailart pieces and Nancy's 'hardly noticeable' mail art was a delight to slip from the side of the envelope. The envelope, so beautifully crafted and topically appropriate... I hated to cut into it, but then I noticed that it was already opened (I don't think anything was taken, I hope not) but the pre-slitted slit helped me feel OK…

Fresh work by Giovani Donaudi! It's serendipitous that he sent me 'Diebenkornesque' figures on tights (Dark Wall will know what I mean…

Wow, E has energy and application! From the yellowed book page transformed into visual poetry to the stamps on the envelope with their tactile…

A poet-friend of mine sent me a collection by Anna Adams. This poem seems so relevant to all we do in mail art/ visual poetry, trashpo, etc... I keep reading it love the way it sounds and thought some of you might like it too:
BLURB
Think of caseworms in their streams
gathering stray bric-a-brac –
sandgrain, leafscrap, broken stick,
to disguise their tender forms:
Binding tesserae of trash
close, to make a…

I must admit I coveted something destined for Granny Eliane, so when I got my own too, the guilty pleasure of holding a piece of genuine De Villo Sloan concrete poetry made my head, my head swim. I can't do this but I appreciate it enormously!
Wrapped in the…

Utter delight when I found these stamps in my post today! Each stamp bespoke and I wonder why I have ever worried that my edges aren't perfect. The character and uniqueness of these have inspired me! Such a range. Oh the joys of IUOMA, the surprise, the generosity. Thank you. You sent these to the right…

So much unexpected. Let's call it a magenta mailart day. First thing I opened was another inspired Frior from Guido, this time Spookses in de Wolken (Fairy Tales in the Clouds) because Guido sees me as someone 'who treasures tongues in an amazing ocean'. I hope I can live up to that high praise but I know I will treasure Guido's gift! His envelope is 'My Dream of life is here to stay or not,' is radiant with colour, movement and intrigue.…

Some time ago I sent Cheryl some automatic writing that was my version of automatic writing - what I mean is It didn't really conform to what I think automatic writing should be, but it was intuitive and it was honest. What I received a few days ago declared on the back of the envelope: This was supposed to be automatic writing But...' Everything about Cheryl's work feels…

This arrived for Island Mailart. I have covered it with some cling film as it is sticky all over. Did something fall off? Any ideas? Let me know!…

Two joyous pieces arrived this week. The first Giuliana de Fiori called 'fashion' but I guess it will need to be washed eventually... the second is something which came for Island Mailart from a local island artist, Susan Landor Keegin. Both make me want to go…
