Yes, today, Tuesday was a GOOD Mail Art Day at Glinou 20!
(Note that postage stamps had fallen off, too slick was the paper? But my post gal kept them in her hand and delivered them to me along with the mail art from Marie...thus NO postage-due ;-)
Well, for sure, Marie sends amazing hand-crafted envelopes of fine Japanese...ads.
And while she…

This most beautifully layered--textured-trash poetic card arrived in Greece today from Torma Cauli.
There are many layers of "stars and stripes" it seems.
And a softer textured material in Greek blue and white.
Folded, over…

I know I already posted this on my own blog (My iPod is My Sketchbook), but I really thought this was too good now to share. So, I give you the Fantastical Envelope from Debbie Clandening by Golly!

Even I have been introduced to the mysterious world of the barcodes by Dean. It's an amazing world and it has for instance learned me to look and wait for the unexpected! Barcodes ARE human!…

From Ruud Janssen - a new FLUXUS word - which brought me to the question of language - YES I KNOW - AGAIN!!!
I read somewhere that language can be seen as the ‘signature’ style of conceptual art. From the late 1960’s there was a breakdown in distinction between the space of the publication and the space of exhibition. Words flew from books, publications and the…

How did he do it? We thought he went simply to quietly celebrate his 39th birthday:
Striking way to visit and come home from Mont Blanc, eh? Most original--the ice cube kills me--as we've come to expect from Dean. Thank you, Dean, this mystified…

It's a Dean of course :-) Dean is making mail-art even when on vacation and having his birthday. This is a thank you card for the birthday wishes, which is so very nice of him. Dean went on a skying weekend during which he met the banana family, who made a big impression on him, so I am a little bit concerned about the Bar Codes. Am I holding one of the last…

from the envelope to the gifts inside these pieces of MA blew me away. This is one that 'must' be held to feel the 100% cotton paper. Carina used a graphic press and said it is an "easy peasy" etching process. The details, the imagery, the entire package is one of my favorites. AND a self portrait inside a translucent envelope, and a map of an area of Finland as a backdrop. So lucky to have received this unique and thoughtful piece.…

GOTIJ, INDEED!! Some lovely women of South Africa have sent me enough art to roll around in! No; I wouldn't roll around on it! But it's plentiful enugh to make me feel spoiled! Some solo work, and some collaborative... And amazingly it all of it arrived on the same exact day. It must have been a plot to overwhelm my ocular senses with artistic delight...
First to suffer the blow of my letter opener was a nice thick envelope from Lesley Magwood Fraser:…
