...And the world is full of all kinds of magical creatures--bandits, ogres, and sorcerers!
This gem arrived in a thick wad of plastic wrap, noting on the outside the delectible contents that awaited inside, and the ominous instructions: "Open carefully; GOOD LUCK!"
So out came my scalpel and I began performing surgery on the plastic parcel. After many tricky hours on the operating table, the masterpiece was finally extracted from its shell. It was indeed a many-layered cardboard and multi-media piece including collage and paint, with many characters playing out the more mysterious and mystical history of the world.
See how thick!...
Especially impressive was the cut-cardboard curlyque "tree" arranged in the center of the piece, branching out to the many different mystical species and stories through history...
[Dans la] forêt, son coeur s'emplit alors de desespoir...
In the forest, one's heart fills up with despair...
Mystères, vautours se reposant comme des courbeaux, en poussant un cri [sur] le chermin de l'arbre...
Mysteries, vultures sitting like corbels, yelp an exclamation on the path of the tree...
Les reflets du soleil [n'est pas illuminent] des ogres et sorcières, des diables, des coquins et bandits [qui se cachent dans les ombres]...
The sun's glare does not shine upon the ogres and witches, the devils, the rscals and bandits hiding in the shadows...
Thank you, Janine! So much handiwork went into this piece. I love art that tells a story! Indeed, the forest is one of the last places where "mystery" and "magic" can be found.

This is really great. I love the 3D tactile quality of it, and the colours that you've chosen work great. Well done Janine! :)
Hurray for cute, funny, weird creatures. Wonderful piece.
