Well, Buddha is...with BLUE background, that is!

What wonderful art awaits in my mailbox after a ten day absence!
BLUE reigns supreme, of course! A real beauty from Suus in Mokum. Many thanks, dearie!

Dean has sent me some mail-art while I was in France. Since there was a flea market coming up that weekend I though it was a perfect opportunity to get some good cash. I was sure of the success of this project, as the piece contained some rare british mail-art omens, as well as a unique "Manoir aux Visons en Alsace" address.…

I'm sure it doesn't need to be said who created this but I will anyway--Claudia McGill!!!!! Love the bit of handwritten trash she has included in the bottom left. Her application of paint is magical. I could never achieve this look on a piece of junk mail. Thank you…

The hood is up and the bar codes are raring to go. You'll either love this one or you'll hate it. It's half & half !
Thank you Nancy, I love it.

In Paris, only down the street for me resides a Mail Artist that keeps me on my toes. Within Paris, if you send Mail Art before 6pm, the other person will have it the next morning.
Ana has recently sent me two pieces that had me running back to old art books. The first is her own version of a work of art by Marcel Duchamps first conceived in 1919. (Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa onto which Duchamp drew a moustache and beard in pencil.)
The name of the piece,…

Even the hot spots of Trinidad & Tobago can not stop Vizma from making Mail Art. Of course her luggage tags and places to go helped.
And she is still staying in touch with the latest events of Wimbledon. Poor Andy let us all down.…

I received five pieces of stellar work. First, Suus in Mokum sent me one of her musical watercolors. Alas, the luminous quality of the ink she used isn’t readily apparent in this scan but trust me the inks are opalescent. I believe this is an abstract but you never can be sure these days. Like if I zoomed out from earth just beyond the depleted ozone layer would I see the pattern? Maybe but you don’t have to squint to feel the organic animalosity (like that word, Suus?) It’s very Rousseau…

Now that we have that impression (true or not), here is a card gratefully received from Carina last month:
The written side explains the personal exclamations--all due to Erni's influence on Carina, of course, and possibly many others…

This lovely piece was drawn by Lesley while at the Ammazulu African Palace. The colors are fantastic together and a wash of white produced bubbles to create a wonderful texture. Another element up in the left corner are some leaves added with a tape tsf method. Brings your eye up to the top of the sketch so you can travel down again *!*

Another envelop stuffed with MailArt, from StripyGoose and from Signor Moreno. For the Add 'n Pass project. Thanks to Erni we now know more about the Mysterious Signor Morena. He's not a member of IUOMA, but an enthousiastic Mail Artist in his own right.
StripyGoose sends me a paint-stamp made by Val, another lotto-thing (my second chance to win a fortune) and a…
