Two forks arrived in a plastic case from Greece without an envelope. It has the mystic words; "Kate Valetine". What could this mean? Who could this be from? Should I open it? What should I send back? The pressures of Mail Art, normal people will never understand.
Thank you Katerina for sending this mail art, and maybe thank you Val for putting your fork…

Earlier this summer, Marie had mailed me a Japanese fortune from a shrine with half its words cut out. She also sent me several bizarre pages from a novel and my job was to create a brand new fortune for The Festival by blending words from the novel with the missing text from the fortune. What goes around, comes around as they say for my fortune has come back to me in…

I can see that Mail Art can become quite addictive. You do not need to receive big parcels, even a small envelope like Suus can raise the serotonin, dopamine or whatever hormone level and soon you are hooked. You send out more mail so that you can have more mail art highs. Is there a disclaimer somewhere that warns people of the dangers of mail art addiction?…

This one is from Ana's series; "assim e se lhe parece" (and if you think so) N° 12. She did this one in 2009, and it sat around her appartment until the time it was time for her to go back home. Lucky for me some things just needed to remain in PAris.…

I'm not sure by law if I'm allowed to put two series together, but here they are on the same blog. This is Planet N Galaxy (2010) or what I see is a full circle which reminds me of a round trip.
From Ana's AR series (2012); Blue AR (Aller Retour = Round trip) OH yes it is blue in Paris as Ana has left to return home. It even rained the day she left.…

Yet more chill pills in Mail Art. This seems to becoming a trend. Sadly these have a side effect which is that the Abstract Origami looked no longer abstract, but rather normal.
The Abstract Origami came in a yellow clear envelope. Wild !…

The postman rang my doorbell while I was in the shower. I clambered out of the bath and got dressed quickly and the postman apologized because the mail did not fit into the mailbox. God knows what he thought about the piece of mail art, which I was to receive from Erni Bär. I had been awaiting this with trepidation as he had announced it a few days earlier including some ominous remarks.…

A NEW-NET Manifesto 2012
(A 2012 Decentralized Networker Congress Project)
In May 1972, during the early era of internetworking and ARPANET, before a telematic art presence, mail artists birthed the proto-internet. This was not the network of a school, a fanclub, or an individual central authority.
