Suus in Mokum

Some time before the dawn of man, Suus sent me this little guy. It eluded my blog grasp until now. Those patterns....how does she do it? This is labor intensive art, people. Lots of magic markers, lots of time, lots of listening to Phil Glass in the wee hours of the night. Thank you,…

Yea, though I walk…

Alicia has sent me two pieces and before a third arrives I thought I'd better get on the stick. A greek chorus atop an electrical diagram and on the back side a personality switch swatch book. I was Tim for three weeks before anyone noticed the lipstick on my collar. Exclusions included.…

Some As If Do, Dream You Do

Way back in June Marie sent me this lovely poem. A Precision Collision of East and West, a silent sepia movie with libretto by Brion Gysin. Low comedy and high art. The order may be mangled but I'm not entirely sure the narrative thread suffers from the tangle.…

TODAY IS MY IUOMA ANNIVERSARY DAY!

It's my IUOMA anniversary day today (15 September, 2013) as :

I have been a member of IUOMA for exactly four years!

In those 4 years, I have:

* sent nearly 1900 pieces of Mail Art, of which some 99% have gone to IUOMA members, at a cost of about €1500/$2,000 (no wonder I am broke)

* received almost 1800 pieces of Mail Art --I have all of them, and they are boxed up and weigh over 25 kilos/55 lbs (no wonder the local Post Office and…

Handwoven Postcard Project

This is (my) Handwoven Postcard #2 - I'm currently waiting to see how it survives its journey through the Royal Mail, after HP#1 survived remarkably unscathed.

I launched the little-participated Handwoven Postcard Project back in 2009, and have recently decided it's time to…

Trashpo Triathalon from Richard Canard, chronic Doodler

Richard has pulled off something amazing here--He wrote mail art on an actual found shopping list (the ultimate find to me) and within the mail art is more mail art in the form of an original Richard Canard doodle!  not to mention it came in a recycled bill envelope.  He wants to know how I doodle. He has given me much inspiration to do just that this weekend. …

Friday the 13th Blog

I received the most fabulous and amusing mail art this week.  First, this ghostly trashpo from DKult Chaplain Neil Gordon. I have never seen him make a piece like this. The minimalism of it would make Eduardo Cardoso proud.  It is so ghostly and understated--truly beautiful..just like Dew Drop…

Received from Cristina Blank.Germany

What a surprise when I opened the rather large envelope from Cristina....Not 1 but 3 pieces were inside...
