Ask Anything

There are a lot of basic questions on Mail Art that are often asked and answered. This group might be the first place to look for answers. I will do my best to answer, but hope that other members can help out as well.

IUOMA in Space!

Finally made something I'm proud of after weeks of feeling like I'd never make anything cool ever again- carved the space helmet stamp yesterday, stamped it out, wrote IUOMA in on a whim, put it on a sticker, slapped it on some outgoing mail.... I…

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
I love any and all mail art- if it's in my mailbox it's automatically awesome. Also, SEND ME YOUR WEIRD SHIT.

I believe in the ridiculous, the random, the surprising, and the wonderful freedom of art being anything that's created and loved by its creator.

I generally do not post outgoing or incoming art here on IUOMA, however I ALWAYS reciprocate mail, so if you send me something I absolutely will send you something back!

"I don't create art to accomplish anything. I do it for my own mental health. I share it with the world because it's comforting to know there are people out there who are invested. People who feel seen in it." -Hatecopy AKA Maria Qamar

“It’s legitimate because I made it.” -Jon Foster

"Mail-art is a punk rock, you do it because you love it and if others find and enjoy what you're doing, all the better." -Jon Foster

The huge Falls Church - Patland geographical gap does not longer exist due to a hansome mail art.  It´s homework time in Republik van Patland. Best.

Earthling, this may be the last but certainly, it´s not the least welcome message to IUOMA you are going to receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly uncharted corner of the faraway universe called “Republik van Patland”. I would love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist.  If that is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 461

I look forward to seeing a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I´ll do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a celestial promise.  I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.
