That's tragically beautiful-I didn't know Subway's were worldwide and bike adverts aren't something to hit here but I'm surprised. Very great colors. Here they would have been stolen and sold for scrap metal. I love any kind of shrine. I'm super curious now about this heart. No black market organs please!

Great link Helen-such a fantastic idea for an exhibit! That would be really interesting to photocopy trash finds onto large sheets of paper and compile with others around the world

hope you guys have a good weekend

Katerina's beautiful trashpo book belongs over here, which I blogged yesterday along with ten thousand other people's posts. A couple images below, and the rest of the post, with more pix, can be found right here .

Yah, you know you'd end up buying it for $1.57. Unless it's one of those weeks when you need to feed your family.

Interesting title by Neil G, to say the least.

Thank you Nancy.  Neil Gordon had a great title for that canpo piece:

"Mans existential exsistence and the quagmire of hate"

(the impossibility of litter in the mind of the consumer)

I think this could be a big hit if you posted it on ebay.

Some envelopes made with some work trash sent to be by Angie and some made from Nancy's trash (one of her many fantastic lists) and another piece using vellum work trash from Angie. Angie also sent me a bunch of stuff including pieces of maps. The trash swap has been a great challenge working with materials of someone elses' choosing.

Nancy, you should make a whole series like that of squished can art. I'd love to see them go for thousands by someone who would read way too deeply into its meaning. Squished cans across the universe

What a riot, Helen doing that! Helen, you listening? That's a riot. It's interesting, being so immediately drawn to trashpo via Diane just a short time ago, and then realizing you've been picking up the stuff for years and even sometimes doing something with it. It is good to have a name for it. Collectors need to at least feel a little bit organized mentally, and names help that.

Too cool Erni. Excellent squashed can trashpo-very inspired with the wire wrapping. What I loved about Helen's squashed can is that she sent me a life sized picture of it as she said she couldn't part with the original.
