A group for people who lost contact from other artists.

Where is that mail artist you want to contact again but is nowhere to be found? Maybe someone has seen them and can share its address, website, or social network profile.

I will note down the names from the comments here. If you have any advice on how to improve this list, or if I better post it in a discussion instead, just let me know.

Thanks, Bradford. Sad to know that happened to people here. I know she was active earlier than 2019 as well under a different account, because we exchanged mail back in 2015/2016-ish. I found an old blog post from her earlier days here. DVS called her a "newcomer" in the summer of 2015, around the time I also joined IUOMA:

I will contact you privately. Thanks again!

To chris wells, et al :

res nullius aka. "res" of Auburn, CA (private message me for the complete address)

joined the IUOMA on 16 AUG 2019.

Some of you may recall a Shirley Gergel (Dennis Gergel?) of Bradenton, Florida who sent graphic sexual content to several of us. "res" and I exchanged private messages regarding the offensive material because it bothered her greatly.  At one point she said, "It's sad, but love and logic can't cure crazy."

I think this activity by one miscreant is what caused "res" to depart this site sometime in the Summer 2020, so almost one year after joining us.

Here are some of the groups she was active in:

ADD & PASS - The X Files
Asemic Writing for Mail-Artists
David Chirot
Fluxus Bucks Creators
New York City April 2010-2011
Vispo

WHO KNEW MICHAEL VOO DOO?
ZALOP

Lastly, her profile was at this link (now defunct):

From 2006 to 2016 an artist named Franck de las Mercedes worked on a mail art project called Peace Boxes where he sent out over 18,000 decorated Priority Mail boxes to anyone who requested one. I was lucky enough to receive one. Mine was sent to me in 2010. As you can see, I have loved mail art for a long time! He is still doing art, but not mail art I don't think. If anyone knows him, send him a thanks!

An artist named Res was active in 2015/2016 or so. I don't know what happened to her or if she is still making art of any kind. But I still think about her when I come to this site.

I found IUOMA thru PostcardX in 2000 I think, it was when I “retired” from a non-art career and went back to teaching Art at Univ. I needed a way to get back to making.
