Where in the world is...

A group for people who lost contact from other artists.

Where is that mail artist you want to contact again but is nowhere to be found? Maybe someone has seen them and can share its address, website, or social network profile.

An artist named Res was active in 2015/2016 or so. I don't know what happened to her or if she is still making art of any kind. But I still think about her when I come to this site.

I found IUOMA thru PostcardX in 2000 I think, it was when I “retired” from a non-art career and went back to teaching Art at Univ. I needed a way to get back to making.

As Leslie Levenson mentioned, yes even IUOMA members are ephemeral, they pass away and leave traces in the Mail Art they've shared throughout the years.  I post the date members are deceased when I come across such information.

BTW, the birthday list is now limited to 20 listings each day so the list is sometimes truncated leaving those who would otherwise be posted towards the bottom off the list that day.  Also, the alphabetic sort now distinguishes lower case letters as different from upper case such that a listing starting with a lower case first letter will now be after the last upper case first letter in the list; kinda odd.

Wow, what a great idea!  I've spent many, many hours documenting addresses of members of various mail groups that have come and gone.  Who among you know that before joining the IUOMA, Patricia Landon was in postcardx.com which became sendsomething.com?  Thankfully, the IUOMA is here to stay.

Yes, as carl baker has stated, many find us and create a membership then never return.  Some even reference a website that is still active years later, but was never populated with any content.

I'll be checking this group for enquiries then sending private messages with a response from my archive to protect identities.

Sadly, a number of mail art correspondents I’ve been in touch with over the years have passed away. It’s the “Eternal Network” though…

attention,

about half the people at iuoma sign up and then disappear,

many do mail-art for a short time and stop, disappear, go away,

many are not serious and only need the social contact via the

internet website. good luck with yr searches.

Ariana Adan a.k.a. Estonolodigo.

I used to exchange a lot of Mail Art with her back in the days. We were connected also with Liketelevisionsnow (RIP) and there was a lot of Mail Art going around between us. Suddenly she disappeared from the network, from the internet and sending mail to her old address results in no answer.

If anyone knows about her, please let me know.
