'Love your "Sparrow Hotel". Take good care of those birdies...I hope there are no more reports of massive bird and fish deaths. I read about some incidents in the USA, too. How sad.
Oh...so sad ;-( poor birds. It might be from volcanic ash still in the atmosphere...me thinks it is the layers of ash that has kept ice and snow and cold NORTH, and we have "summer" this winter. Strange weather.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Rod, my boy! What a great mail art day today was...and why is it "Sad Sky Issue"? The birdies are indeed sad...maybe that is volcanic ash and they cannot fly south? Great card! Many thanks!
Was stopping by here, Rod, to wish you a HAPPY MAIL ART NEW YEAR 2011...and I see a bit of a discussion about the "Elgin Marbles" (I know Elgin, Ilinois, the home of Diane Keys...'been there many a time in that town) ... never linked marbles and "Elgin" the town with Lord Elgin! Ha! fun thing. Well, you are correct , dear friend, Lord Elgin took away the marble sculptures of the Parthenon and Greece cannot get them back...though the new Acropolis Museum is a gem and an ideal place for them. sigh. So...instead, we have these life-size plaster casts, both at the museum and at the Acropolis Metro Station in Athens. That's my son Peter, so you get an idea of the actual size of the sculptures (unless, of course, you have seen them in the "BM", :-) Now i must go and give info to Diane...Diana..the goddess of the hunt!
WOw, I so would never have known that:) Cool story and I've never heard it. So now you know that Elgin is the proud owner of an infamous, and extremely haunted, state hospital for the criminally insane AND a nut factory (san fillipo nuts). It also has a riverboat casino and a kick ass mail art scene--okay not really or at all, but I have done quite a few art projects sponsored by the city. We did buy my son marbles as he requested one year for xmas, but they are still sitting on his shelf. My Uncle used to call me Dianis and told me it was a Greek Goddess. I believed him for the longest time until I found out the real name. All the best Diane
Never did get the original marbles comment-or maybe I was too immersed in making mail art dada skank. anything is possible. hmmm. the marble comment. It could be referring to it being the location of the state hospital where the criminally insane are housed and let out on day passes because they lost several marbles? There is also a nut factory in Elgin-literally. Otherwise I have no idea. It's lots of gangbangaz here now so I could only hope they'd play something as wholesome as marbles. mostly they rob and tag

in lower case and in caps, Rod,
they all can be used, or choose one of them...they all "stink" :-)
In lower case the OMEGA looks like a "w" but you see in the caps the real "omega" that you know from fraternity days?
