Mail-art by IUOMA member WA Rodgers (Takoma Park, Maryland, USA)
December 18, 2014 - Inside-the-Beltway, Washington, DC-area correspondent WA Rodgers sent me this lovely holiday mail-art that displays her distinctive style and associative mind. This oversized postcard is both deeply thoughtful and tantalizingly cryptic. WA Rodgers’ work this time around is more language-centered than previous pieces received, and you can see some of her themes and preoccupations more articulated. Her message, I think, is wonderful:
Many thanks to WA Rodgers for her wonderful work and contributions to MinXus-LynXus! I will be in touch!

Much appreciated, Richard. And things have been much more interesting for me since you crossed over into the aether with us, the practitioners of Mail-Art Nouveaux. Some of the old timers enjoy grousing on Facebook about the terrible state of m-a today and how things were better "back in the day." They disappoint me. How could it remain the same? And isn't it better to support and courage the new people? Not sure where that came from....
As for Wendy, you raise an interesting point about the eye (or is it eyeye?)
I'm reading the long version of Stephen King's The Stand, and there is the satanic eye of the Dark Man watching everyone.
But really it's done much better in Tolkien. Isn't it Sauron's eye in Mordor that's watching everyone. WA Rodgers made me think of that, although I doubt she intended.
18.12.14 Dare Mister De Villo S., ....well yes, "beauty is in the eye of the beekeeper" isn't it???.... & Ms. Rodgers observation found in your address: "Hero of the Poetic" is "Right-On"!!! as well. You have proved yourself most kind & generous of your time & energy to many of us here at the IUOMA during this past year. Thank you for your many insightful notations, research, attentions, etc., etc. Hopefully there is still yet more in store for us all. All best to you & don't forget to take care of yourself & all that jazz. Richard C.
