End of a beautiful day in Navarino - from Jim SantAmour

Earth and sky meet around a small church in Navarino (NY) for a beautiful sunset, and another great surprise in my mailbox. I have been admiring Jim SantAmour's photos on several blogs, and now one of them (two actually, there is a small one on the back of the card) is mine! Stunning. Thank you Jim!

Thanks Svenja. Oh, I got a beautiful Japanese envelope from you today. I haven't opened it yet because I'm waiting for some good light to take pictures of it before ruining it ;-)) but thank you! and stay tuned...

Nice pics. I know the one on the bottom from Flickr or somewhere - haunting.

Syracuse is a post-industrial horror. Mad Max with snow. We're waiting for those shots of Alsace.

Anything related to photography is always interesting to me, he couldn't have chosen a better one, I feel very lucky. Navarino and Syracuse are beautiful names....

Thanks for posting, Marie. That's just a beautiful photo, and I know Navarino. The area is called Central New York, but that's confusing because people think you mean it's Manhattan, which it clearly isn't. So call it Upstate NY.

Jim is mysterious - it's clear he spent time in NY. He has access to an incredible photo archive of historic shots. I'll see one of his NY photos and realize I was walking there yesterday, only the pic is from 50 years ago.

I really like the Florida stuff he's pulling together now - really noir stuff. And his move into vispo has been seamless and brilliant.

Anyway, a really nice one IMHO.
