Cheryl Penn's and DeVillo sloan's "Asemic16" projects...(all four editions) are well under way. I jumped in last minute, thinking that it was not possible earlier to commit to making 16 copies for the project while out away from the studio. But even under-the-olive-tree art can proceed. And due to their encouragement, I have now discovered a new "writing" expression. Me thinks…

Into the city today to pick up the week's mail...bills, ads...and Mail Art from South Africa. Life is GOOD!

Coming in with the last mail delivery before Greek Easter holidays is this ZALOP...and very 'Sewn Asemic" mail art from Cheryl. The stitching is so involved and is overlapping clear plastic that is overlapping more asemic writings:

It begins coming from an asemic-ZALOP envelope and it just has to be good!

Deep and dark, with warm brown tones and asemic "lace" with gentle threads from stitches.

What mystery is that "shadow" amongst the pages?…
