Marking the Centenary of the First World War, this mail art project for young people (aged 11-25 years) aims to create cross-cultural dialogue and exchange through research and visual art. Theresa Easton, the North East of England Project Manager, plans to work with young people in her region to research aspects of World War I and the legacy surrounding it. Using a wide range of printmaking techniques and art-making processes, they will be partnered with young people in other countries to…

Today at ARTS-In Istanbul we had a different day. Generally we have a very cheerful atmosphere in the gallery and we are always in a very very positive mood. Bu today was somehow different. You could feel it!!! We were happy-cheerful and sad at the same time... We were happy because our gallery had been enlightened with precious artworks from all over the world for more than two weeks. Seeing all those beautiful, clever, shocking, unique, classical, modern, abstract, conceptual artworks…

To fold or not to fold, that is the question. I received this Origami Banana and an original MAil Art Martha trademark postcard. The item on the right is an add & pass, which is difficult for me as I never use envelopes, but I'll try.
Thank you Martha, I keep unfolding it and re-folding it to see how it…

Three letters today! Lucky me.
From Fleur I received this green envelope with a smaller origami envelope inside:
Inside the ornate envelope is this little ATC gem:
It's a snowy, handmade reindeer! What a perfect holiday greeting. Thanks…

Mail Art Martha sent a small but thick envelope. Here it is. I love that IUOMA stamp, it is one of the best I have seen.
The envelope is full of treats. Firstly, I found a thick piece of paper with a collage painting by Martha.…

I have two blogs that I blog on regularly. One is for my Mail Art and for other things in my life - nothing really personal, however, as I like to keep things personal. I have lots of images of my trips, mainly our artist residencies in Paris. They were always so meaningful in terms of being able to create work. Also, I got to visit with Dean, Andy, Elena, and Positively Postal early in 2012. The other is my recipe blog. I was going to put my Mail Art on it but ended up using it for my…

Even travelling around the South of France, Martha manages to pull yet another master piece out of the trolley.
Thank you Martha

This has to be the best Mail Art I have ever received. Wait a second, it's my mail art that I sent to Martha ! So let me get this straight. One receives Mail Art, then makes it better and then sends it back to the person who sent it? Maybe I should have increased the explosive charges when I had the chance!
Of course what Martha has done here is to reply to all of my fire questions and statements. And she did a great job of turning it around and making it funnier.…

What a bewitching surprise to put this one out of the mailbox. Now this is the way to do it. An envelope without being an envelope. I must tell Katerina.
To me these look like milk tabs in a clear plastic envelope, but would you open it?

When I was in London, I had the chance to meet in person Mail Art Martha and see her famous Shopping Trolley Art Gallery. We both agreed that there is no reason not to share these moments with other Mail Artist, but also the whole world.
I hope you enjoy this new star of the silver screen in her acting debut. Here is the link: http://youtu.be/oQlUFrpRUvU
