Received from I'm a Super Hero, USA--Downpour in the Heart

The simplicity of this piece to articulate such an emotion is pitch-perfect and visually divine. Am honored to receive it. Super Hero, you are a super hero.

Trees, Shrubs and Lianes of Southern Rhodesia - From Lesley Magwood Fraser

There's all sorts of jargon that that only those in the know know - right?

Ficus Burkei Miq, Natalensis Hechst. Lycium Persum. The good news - they all grow in Selinda and Umtali and Chirinda. Hope that helps????

Seriously - Les has created her own…

Dancing Skeletons from Theresa Ann Williams

I received an intricate collage from Theresa featuring asemics, iconic images and dancing skeletons. A clue to the contents was on the front of the envelope – “It’s a good week for lovers of old-school monster Reade, the godfather of stop-motion animation.” Reade (1927 – 1998) was of course the Australian who created the character Pepe – an animated propaganda cartoon character in Cuba.  Theresa and Stamped Theresa's :-) X…

Nancy Bell Scott's Minimal Art

I really love the earth tones and textures of the three different papers she use adding a splash of gold on what seems to look like a ribbon going over the 171 piece of paper. Thanks for sharing your minimal art with me Nancy.  It really stands out with the white… Continue

Mysterious (and asemic!) card from Theresa Williams

This could be read so many different ways:

I love the asemic writing, and the cut-off poetic text at the top right.  And the shape of the piece itself!

Here is the inside, which you see after flipping the front page up vertically:

Min from Mim!

Received from Mim Golub Scalin, "Minimal 3 + graphite": Shortly before this arrived, I was admiring Mim's photos section, which at the moment was carrying what appeared to be a series of which this is a part.  Big surprise when the postman showed up!  Very appealing collage, and my scanner is sorry that it doesn't do orange well, damn thing. Thank you so much, Mim!

Two from Vaida Adiav, both with her incredible threaded circles

Seeing and touching these in person is amazing:

Her style is purely unique, unlike any other.  The next piece has the attached anchor, which can be placed anywhere depending on your mood due to its movable string.  I know the anchor is black, but I am also taken with the collaged text on its back side, so I'm showing that side first:…

A hand from Bifidus Jones

A handsome hand, informative and reaching across the world: The bridge stamp is beautiful too.  The whole piece is an excellent collage work.  Other side:

Very nice handwriting, and I'm dying to read it all, but of course that isn't quite possible. …
