Received MA - Karen Champlin (Illinois) - MANY THX!!!

Sir Erni sent me a Gift

Well I tried to scan it but didn't come out. Erni made this wonderful assemblage box for me. It has the Erni trademark bright colors. He gets his green and yellow by inserting a sponge in the box. It goes on like that. In the box is a cut out statement "Karmic Management". Also "Lost in Repression?...just control yourself". HE even sent along candy for me to eat while I'm looking at it. What a friend you are Erni....Thank you! Oh yeah, is Grigori with you?

Long overdue on posting this. So sorry, Elke. Got put in a different folder. EG is an artist whose work continues to facinate me. Her assemblages and typographic desconstructions are quite enigmatic and I do recommend seeking out her posted work.…

Tokyo snail being pernickety. Or moody. Or something...

Do my postcards look like envelopes?

I've send this postcard to Art who leaves in a neighboring area in Tokyo, putting 70 yen of postage instead of the 50 required for domestic postcards. He got it with a note from the post asking him to pay the 10 yen that are missing within 10 days (10yen=0.1UDS).

Wot?

Maybe they thought it was a letter, for which I should have put 80 yen of postage, but the reason they give it that it was too heavy, which it is definitely not.

Why they… Continue

Received: Mail art from Angie Cope and STAMMER FETISH anti-art recipe (Port Washington, Wisconsin, USA)

September 21, 2010 - Angie Cope sent me mail art - we're on round two - and it lifted my spirits in a very dark time. First, is the piece above which I think represents Angie's dog Snooky who is rapidly becoming a mail art icon. But I think it gets even better than that. The pieces below…

Received: Legendary missing White Rabbit mail art by Swinx (Greifswald, Germany)

September 19, 2010 - In the depths of summer, Swinx posted this mail art print at the IUOMA. It was very popular, and I requested a large signed copy - a real favor to ask indeed. Week after week, no White Rabbit in my mailbox, Then on Saturday it suddenly appeared. I am very grateful. What is the allure of this white rabbit art that caught my attention along…

It helps if the foreign hitchhiker knows enough Japanese to engage - for Arthur Huang

A very local mail today. Let's see how long it takes for a japanese snail to go from one lab bench to the next one.
