Katerina Nikoltsou: Pensive Athena

I know many interpret this as the Godness Pensive Athena mourning those who fell in 460BC, other say she is standing at a boundary stone for Athenas' sanctuary.  The most realistic version is that she is trying to pry that marble stone out of the ground to take it home and make a marble sink out of it for her bathroom.

Who is Eduardo Munez?

"In March this year writer Ruth Tapp was recovering from a serious illness at home, feeling sorry for herself, when she began to receive mail for a mysterious Mr Eduardo Munez. Over the next few weeks, nearly every day he received at least one letter. The letters came in different shapes and sizes and where clearly not from the same sender. This sparked Ruth’s…

Incoming from Heleen de Vaan - Netherlands

It took some time.

But eventually the enveloppe made in to Breda. It took TWO tries, but that brings the many traces. I see that one postage stamp hasn't been cancelled, so I probably will recycle the lovely envelope to give the postal office another go in adding something.....…

Mail Art Martha: Salut

Martha says "Hello"  as she dances in the sun light with Mr. Egghead and the lady with dried fish on her head.   Now if that isn't great lyric for a hit song than I don't know what is.  Very Dolly, or is that Dali?

Thank you Martha.  Wow and a "Salut" rubber stamp.  Now where did you get…

Back to Black (and Bowie)

I'm currently obsessing over David Bowie's song, "Blackstar" and am mulling not over its lyrics (which are always interesting), nor the video with images for days. Actually, I'm more interested in the cadence of the song and the choice of sound he chose. It almost was reminiscent of Peter Byrne in that the beginning is grand, spacious and lush with expansive sounds that reminded me of an opening scene of say, Laurence of Arabia. But then, he switches the song in the middle to his signature… Continue
