"Shortly after I joined the IUOMA in 2010 RCBz thought he should crucify me for the Monkey Purge (long story). So this was my intro to RCBz. That's not me in the pic, but it's supposed to represent me."

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
Went to Printed Matter in New York for a panel about Ray Johnson, an artist I deeply love. Crackerjack Kid tossed boxes into the audience and I caught one. He said that if we added to and returned we'd be on his mailing list. Of course I wanted to be, so I did. I'm an artist working in mixed media in New York City.

Li thanks for the tip about Ray Johnson at Matthew Marks. Must confess that I didn't have that on my radar. As for Printed Matter my brain was reeling from my first visit there !

Thanks Li, I didn't know - I will definitely make an effort to go. I don't think I'm familiar with John Dowd's work.

Thanks for watching it.  It's just a 3 page excerpt from a 407 page book so out of context it's harder to understand than if one were to read the book from cover-to-cover.

At Printed Matter in New York (231 11th Ave.) there's an exhibit of seldom seen mail, broadsheets, and other ephemera by artist John Dowd running until May 20th.  Great show!
