In keeping with your breathing in and out, your certificate of participation in the mail art call Literature and Mail Art will be on its way to you tomorrow. Thank you very much for being with us.
Your piece of breath has bridged the huge Mountain View-Republik van Patland gap handsomely. "I´ll do my homework after receiving your artwork." That´s a celestial promise.
John, I´m the curator of a mail art call sponsored by the Federal University of the State of Parana in the south of Brazil. The university will send certificates of participation to those who send mail art, all of them. Deadline is November the 21st. If you are interested I´ll send further information to you. Please let me know. Time is flying!
Did you say IUOMA friends as from now? Oh Lord!, that keeps me breathing in and breathing out.
Earthling, this may be the last but certainly, it´s not the least welcome message to IUOMA you are going to receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. I´d love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
Terrene Embassy
Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 461
Curitiba-PR
80011-970
Brazil
I look forward to seeing a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I´ll do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a Celestial Promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.
W LA MAIL ART W IUOMA!!!! UN FRATERNO ABBRACCIO , B
My first mail art show was "Contents:Objects, Piles and Boxes" in 1979. The show was curated by Mike Crane and all the work was show in his Micro Gallery at Open Ring Gallery and the Main Gallery of CSU Sacramento. Mike was a professor at CSU Sacramento and he introduced me to performance art and mail art. I have lost most of the mail I received over the years but found a few things today including the catalogue for the show. As I look at the list of artists involved I am humble to see Ray Johnson, Anna Bananna, Vittore Baroni, John M. Bennett, Ken Friedman, and many more. I sent mail art to all the artists involved and if I can remember I believe I received art from each one in the show. my piece was the "Fish" Box...Over the years I developed an amazing collection but over the years as I developed my performance art I dropped off the Mail Art network. Over the years I did curate a mail art show. The last one was about 10 years ago called "Beuys will be Beuys... The most amazing surprise was a box of worms from an artist from the former Soviet Union... 3 or 4 were still alive and initially I intended to trout fish with them but instead I gave them to a friend who had a worm bed that he used for his garden... I wonder if there are descends wiggling around Nothern California....
