We love those postal additions!

Some times mail art gets lost in the mail, and other times the mail company is so kind to add something to our mail art. Dynamic art, I love that!

In this group you can post the postal additions to the mail art that you´ve sent or received. Additions by the mail companies which made you smile, touched you or whatever. Additions which are, in fact, part of the Mail Art!

I agree, perhaps the arrow is misleading, though i have used it on hundreds of other mailings. I am thinking that the postal machine didn't "flip" the envelopes to the address side, and instead it read the rubber stampings as "incorrect address", with a yellow "NIXIE" being attached automatically on the "under side"?

Surely, no "human being" was looking at it!

I shall cease the arrow...

and no rubber stamping on the back of the envelopes.

Katerina, do you think it might be the "TO-->" causing the problem? Perhaps the computerised machine can't read it then the human staff are too lazy/busy and just bung it straight back without even looking at it.

NIXIE...NIXIE...NIXIE...NIXIE !

I am beginning NOT to love these postal additions :-(

US Post is returning mail art that I sent in October,

and they have CORRECT addresses!

(and correct, expensive "exoteriko" ...overseas postage) sigh!

Does the rubber band count as a 'postal addition'? Thanks, Debora, the letter seems to be still there.

And an other extra bar code, this time over the address and not so easily removable.. And in exchange, the Post tore off a little part of the artistamp..

Thank you, Cascadia Artpost for this very interesting mail!

@Heleen - the black barcode looks like it was applied here in the US. I have no idea if any postal services can read the codes from another country. Glad the added one could be easily removed, just like the USPS ones.
