Some mail artists add a stamp print to their mail art, saying 'Hannah Hoch Fan Club'.
Until I received these stamp prints I never had heard of this artist, who was born 1st of November 1889. She has been a collage / photomontage pioneer. She was part of the Dada movement and also became involved in the De Stijl art movement.
For anyone who has a Hannah Höch Fan Club Stamp (and interested others, I haven't one), this group can be the place to share your thoughts and mail art, tributing to and/or inspired by Hannah Höch.

Dear Charlotte - on behalf of the group - Welcome! I will put you on the list.
We are still deciding what we will do so keep looking here for details
As it is at the moment, you do anything you want, any size. You send something to everyone on the list and they will each send you something.
Do join in with any ideas you have.
Hi Mary Anne and the others, I have just had a look in my emails and discovered all your comments about starting a group in Hommage of Hannah Höchs collages!
I would love to join the group, because I am a fan of her work for ages. I am writing from the middle of Germany and here her work is now highly estimated and there has been a very fine biography about her in 2012. Soi would like to contribute to the group art work(?).
Please let me know in a not too complicated english what to do for it!
Best wishes Charlotte from Göttingen
So, A little resume of where we are.
The plan is to have an assembling box.
Everyone finds their own box or, if they can afford the postage, makes a box for someone else on the list (?) The box will then be filled (hopefully) by everyone sending a piece of work (or several if they feel inspired) to everyone else.
Should I announce the project on IUOMA project page so we will hopefully spread the word and maybe gain a few new members, or do we keep it within the group? If we keep it within the group maybe it could become an annual event?
The list of participants so far is: Heleen de Vaan; Carmen Kennedy; Cascadia Art Post and myself Mary Anne.
Helen mentioned setting a size of paper. That would be essential for a book but not so much for a box. In my experience people tend to ignore set sizes and go their own way but economics usually keeps the size down. If anyone in the group has a suggestion shout out.
My first (!0 offering should be in the post tomorrow and I have another ides for something 3D!!
This idea will run and run I think.
PS if wanted, I an willing to keep track of the people contributing and come up with some sort of 'contributor list' at the end of the project (whenever that is) or every now and then if it is open ended.
Heleen, that is an excellent idea! I like that everyone would receive a work from all in the group.
Cunning plans are good. I am mostly offline this weekend because of other commitments but am happy to go along with whatever plans come about. I like that Cascadia might do some mini stamps. I hope some other people will find an interest in this and join this endeavor in the pre-creation phase. Look forward to learning more about Hoch.
I think a box a good idea!
We could make per person as much pieces of artwork (or one original and copy it - by hand or by copy machine - as much) as there are people who are
joining. So in the end we have a a piece from all.
We could use a box of our own, or one can make one box for one other person of us?
And think about create all on the same size of paper
Okay people . . . we have four on board at the moment: Heleen, Carmen, Cascadia and myself. I am sure a few more would join in if they knew what we were up to; so, what are we doing and when? We need to come up with a cunning plan!
Carmen. Not only is the sketchbook a real 'find' but so is the project it is a pert of.
I recommend anyone on IUOMA to investigate because there might be an interesting opportunity here to do something worthwhile. Look, look, look, no matter what sort of thing you like doing . . .
Found lovely collage sketchbook by Marlene Weisman on the Sketchbook Project site. One of the artists who inspired her work was Hannah Hoch.
Oh, a collaboration on a Hannah Hoch sounds like a fun endeavor. Count me in. I would love to do some collage work in her honor and having a deadline of November 1 (her birthday) seems doable at this point. Would we mail our finished homage to another person on the list...just thinking out loud about how that would work. I am very new to the collaboration thing.
