"Naughty, naughty, Ms. Keys! It's 'definitely' not 'definately.' You've made that error about a dozen times in the last week!"

p.s. The Spell Chick only handles spelling.  Horrendous grammar and sentence structure is handled by Grammar Girl.  She has given up on me

I think this recipe book needs to be a collective. If you could please send your best Dkult recipes that would be great. Dan--Sneaker Stink Beer sounds like a winner. We need a step by step for these so that people can do them even when they are weak for lack of food and dehydrated. We do imbibe on special occasions after all=like wedding anniversaries and flag day!!!

Dan--we used to have a Spell Chick that spell checked everything posted at IUOMA and correctly it instantly. She went on strike quite awhile ago and changed careers. But I was able to get a new one to volunteer!

Old sock strainers? That's what I use when brewing beer. When my old white crew socks have absorbed so many molecules of sneaker stink, I fill them with hops and pitch them into the brew kettle. As a child I had sock hops; now I have hop socks.

Givernment? Cheep? Hmmm...,foiled by my fingers again.

Martha,
While I haven't tried Diane's recipe yet, I feel I can offer some advice on how to best replicate "givernment cheese," which all we USA folks grew up eating in our school cafeterias. Cheep cheddar will never come close, no matter how green and fuzzy it gets--wait, isn't that how they make Stilton? A better idea is to take your next empty plastic Nutella jar, place it in the microwave and cook on high just to the point where it bursts into flames. Turn off the oven and let the fire burn down without opening the oven door. Before it has totally cooled, scrape it with a knife off the floor of the oven and place it on a slice of stale whole wheat bread. I would try it with a dash of Thai Sriracha sauce. Oh my!

a DKult recipe book? this could be big!!  we could raise funds and finally get you that Koi pond/whirlpool Martha! It's not quite like swimming with dolphins, but very therapeutic none the less  will be working on some new recipes. you'd be surprised how many things you can make out of flour. water. and left over flour and water.  Maybe Prince Charles would donate some of his cheese to Dkult?

Comment by Mail Art Martha on June 15, 2014 at 12:56pm

Ooops! i am afraid I used a tiled floor, it has terrible cracks, so may be that is why it worked. Also i always strain  my strainables though an old sock which I found in a park nearby. What I cannot get here is government cheese, our Prince Charles makes cheese in a farm in Wales but it is horrible expensive so not suitable at all, I think. I used  the cheepest cheddar which I normally mature by putting it under my mattress for a week or until it turns green, what ever is the earliest. Anyway it was delicious, more recipes will be appreciated.

I DID take it out Thom---definately halvsies but I think I'd have to go all the way to Washington to pick up the winnings...nahhh. I'm happy with my lifestyle. As you can see--the food is phenomenal.  so here is the secret recipe:

flour (hand ground from whole wheat, but not by me), non-potable water (boiled to death and filtered through a sock- so it's sterile right?) government cheese made of polyester and yellow food dye, salt, pepper

no flooring or tile whatsoever, however it can be used as such for that rare person that doesn't love it
