Two Great Trashpo Pieces-the top one is Trashpoetry from Urusula Rodgers and the bottom is from Lisa-which came addressed to me in her gorgeous calligraphy. The popsicle box instantly makes me thing of summer. I'm going to follow that squirrel to his stash!

Interesting piece from Erni Dean! I would love to see a video of Erni's thought and collection process for this piece. Did he 'find' them? hope not did he 'buy' them? Did someone give them to him? So many questions this art raises. I never pictured German women wearing such impractical undies.

Lisa, you are fantastic. She has shared a link with me for bulk acorns. 1000 pounds of them is 1,000 dollars. I would need a mass quantity of them to have an impact and the squirrel would need to be at least 4 or 5 feet don't you think? I wrote the nice man (he is a therapist and probably is humoring me thinking I need lots of help--he doesn't know I have Nadine) and said my funding option fell through. I told him I would write the local nut factory (Fischer nuts) that is headquartered herej and see if they will donate acorns. Thanks for checking on the squirrel's food of choice Not hiNG-peanuts would probably be cheaper, but somehow less funny.

A squirrel costume would be good too but I seem to have committed to the paper mache thing and it makes it crafty. Lisa, if you would help me make it and I can get the nuts donated (Nadine has promised to send me truckloads) then we are in business!!!!

MY first guess is that it was Trashpo from Paris, but no this is a Hamburg Trashpo speical.

     And to come to think of it, I bet could transform it into a nearly 2D Mail Art piece for that Elgin City Hall Trashpo Show in January.

I'm sure that Erni has some other pictures to compliment this blog, if he dares ...

So the whole thing has my wife worried.  "Why would a grown man send another nearly grown man a pink string?, she asked  "It's just art dear, and besides, it didn't belong to anyone we know.", I replied

Most likely Erni found this in front of the post office where he hangs out on Friday evenings, but who knows, it might have been in the Reeperbahn. (Google it, if you dare.)  Thank you Erni, I am honored to know you could only send it to me!

Diane, I've looked around all the oak trees in my area, California is full of them, but no acorns. We have squirrels living in the Eucalyptus trees next door and the neighbors feed them peanuts. I have peanuts every where, peanuts in my garden, peanuts in my yard, in my garage, up the yin yang, but sorry no acorns.

This was interesting. Maybe it will give Diane some courage to do the acorn installation. She could throw in some clothing or yams (remember Karen Finley smearing herself with yams?) for artistic resonance.

I'm with you, Claire. The roots are in DaDa. And I am not blaming Fluxus, if it came across that way. Fluxus was originally Neo-DaDa. The "concept art" of the Event Score, as I understand it, became "conceptual art."

In the big picture, it's like: "We won." Then why is it all so "business as usual"?

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on July 13, 2012 at 3:04am

@dvs:

a: wld. opine that the origins are indeed daDa, regardless of the particular instantiation...

b: trashpo emph. folder in process pour toi...

Hahhhh! You are of course a terrible person. I agree there could be a budget  and I love the idea of dirty underpants in major museums and people buying them. It brings to mind, urine in jars. So I think that's going to be my contribution.

he is correct, vapid pretentious trying-too-hard aesthetic-less "shock" value is in! %_^
