Well said, DVS, and Diane, you are hiding a light under something. Your scene writing was Alive!

KDJ as usual has me in stitches.

reply to DVS post1: lol!

to post 2: thanks for the post dvs - you're a sweetie! yes, i felt at home here immediately, i must say! my diatribes are...what to say? well, they are a definite juxtaposition of the serious & the sarcastic. i' don't worry abt. the tendency [even though a tad predictable, I find myself endlessly entertaining!] [sarcastic? you decide... %_^], have just had some probs/trouble w/ folks missing the ironic notes of the "hyper-serious"... aaanyway, it makes a good [straight woman] foil at least! [solipsistic lass recalls funny anecdote: once antiquing w/ my sis, i fell in love w/ a dark wood, high-backed rather medieval looking chair w/ red velvet cushion. my sister said, 'oh, you have to get that so you have a throne upon which to perch when you launch into one of your drunken pontifications!"

And: I have to add that many, many of your rich, intense & informative prosaic ventures have entertained me greatly indeed! [please note: not sarcastic!]

Claire, from what I've experienced at IUOMA people just state what they think or don't think & it goes into the flow & it's taken seriously, thought about & almost never are people judgmental. And when people respond - it's not always linear, but after a while you start to realize you are among friends, or at least it's really supportive. That has always been this strange & really unusual quality of the mail-art network. People get along and are mutually supportive.

Really, I think rants are encouraged, even if for a kind of entertainment. I was just writing the other day about how DK's acceptance speech for the Martha Stuart School Medal of Honor has to be an all-time classic rant. So don't worry about ranting.

I'm being sarcastic. I'm always sarcastic and ironic. I didn't know there was any other way.

@kdj - I keep wanting to "Like" your posts!

@DK - agreed! i resisted them for a looong time [sooo corny, reminded me of the 'giggly girls' in school], but after repeatedly offending folks when intending to elicit a guffaw, I gave in...

re 'abil. to fly' - indeed!!! [now, is that funny and/or sad?]

Comment by DKeys on July 14, 2012 at 12:28am

Cleo-I was being serious and not sarcastic at all. We only know each other virtually but I can assure you I am not like that! You're right-without the benefit of non-verbal communication, we are at the mercy of emoticons to get our meaning across..Love them, hate them, it's amazing what a :) can do

Love the squirrel KDJ. I feel certain that a proposal to NRA would get me on a list that might limit my ability to fly

now: 1 inclination to tell you i was joking, but i already did. [you made me larf!] then again, your response could be sarcastic and the dilemma of virtual communication triumphs once again [re - body language, intonation, etc]! well, read sarcastically, it's funny [I love to larf at my too-serious - hmm, pose or stance?]; read seriously, it's quite delicious & charming, [not to mention flattering imnsho] indeed =^_^= ! Neil is correct: you can, indeed, write! Curious: I haven't seen any work of yours where you combine your linguistic & yr visual sensibilities except in the funny/sillier work. You should combine ma chere! Unless I haven't seen...?

Cleo, not making fun of you in anyway please don't think that-that is just how I see you and I love the way you express yourself--completely unique !

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on July 13, 2012 at 10:49pm

@dk, I related your hoarders anon. exp./dilemma to a few friends - many laughs indeed!

i love this: "...before they know they have the option to object!"

Comment by Claire (aka Cleo) on July 13, 2012 at 10:46pm

lol - are you laughin' at me girl? [joke] [i know i don't really need to note it in this forum, but folks often take my polemics/diatribes too seriously & miss the grain..better to be safe, oui?][hmm, or is it?!?!]
