Whether you create in a studio, atelier, shed, kitchen or on a coffee table, the artists' workspace has always been an intriguing place of information and interest to people.
Please share photos of YOUR mail art creating area. I want to see Artspaces in action, so no tidying up!! Let's see your pens, tools, glues, stamps, dirty wine glass, rubbish bin, storage space, etc!
Let's have a snoop in this group!!

I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

I'd love to send everyone a copy of my book but alas they are very expensive! Not for poor mail artists obviously but for folk with more money than sense! ha ha! Honestly this is a no profit publication- the printer gets all the money! We ( Norman Conquest atBlack Scat Books and I ) dont get a cent- we do it for the love of making books!
I think I know the show Linda. It's called Hoarders, and I watch it to make myself feel a little bit better about my hoarding habits. I always think, "Well, I'm not that bad. At least I can still get to my table somehow." I have a hard time throwing anything out, but I don't keep pizza boxes and newspapers and plastic bags...I do keep paper bags for some reason. I also have several bins at different stages of being thrown out, such as definitely throw, maybe throw, possibly throw, recycle, burn.
Oh, and if I take things to the rubbish dump, I'll always bring just as much stuff back!! :-(
hi, what is your feeling about that tv show whose title looks like "Buried at home"? Has anyone ever seen it? Have you ever seen houses so full of garbage and people uncapable to separate from the stuff so meaningful for them... I do not want to make comparison with "our artist house", but I feel somehow involved and a little bit intrigued having a crowded home, but with respect for all who are prisoner of this compulsive behaviour ; :-)........overwhelming but fascinating.. insn't it?
laurence what about the floor conditions?:-)
martha I understand your feeling when it comes to throw something away....
You're welcome, Martha...
It doesn't seem easy to get to the chair Laurence, but it is a lovely corner, very cosy. Today I cleaned and hoovered which I had not done for about three years (really), not properly, and even threw away a couple of pieces of useless cardboard. It was a difficult decision.
I just looked at Julian again and had to laugh Martha!!
Now, must go, must buy catalogue, must give Michael money, hang on, was there a subliminal advertising message somewhere here?
Hey Michael, this ad will cost you, you know! Send me that book and we'll be square! ;-)) Big hopeful Wink!! (or at least a bit of MA?!!)
Lacilloto thanks for the clarification, I was getting a complex.
And Vizma, I am sorry, I don't know my left from my right, or even Julian's. It is his left paw on his right knee now that I look at it again. A very important point to clarify too.
Martha, it is just a trick... as I taken a photo of the most tidy corner in my studio...
