I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

I'm envious, Viz. Today we woke up to 9 degrees farenheit, don't know what that is in celsius--brrrrr. And the reason I got the two studio spaces Dan showed is because I used to have only a corner of the guest bedroom, and the alcove off of that which is where my office nook is. But then Dan wanted to move the tv downstairs so I moved my jewelry studio in the room where the tv used to be. But then Dan got worried about me using my oxy-aceteline torch on the 2nd floor of our 100 year old wooden house, so I moved the jewelry studio out to the garage and moved my painting studio out of the guest room and into that room. Then the garage (which is not attached to the house) got broken into and a bunch of tools--including my router and dovetail jig (but fortunately no metal or stones, or jewelry tools) got stolen, so the jewelry studio (except for the torches which are still in the garage) and the assemblage studios got moved back upstairs into my paint studio which is why it's now so crowded. So see, it's really all Dan's fault LOL!
You should all come and visit me! I went outside to have lunch today and got sunburnt!
Lovely place, Dan! I would happy close the door to the outside world and dive into this world of yours. It seems like snow abandons Northern Europe :)
Dan! These are exceptional photos, what a sight for bored eyes!!! I love the details too, and, like An U, I'm devouring every corner of these beauties. Thanks for sharing!
Oh, do I spot a metalsmithing area with dremels, pliers and wire? (near the blue rubber gloves.) What gets created there?
Dan, love your photos! What an amazing art studios you and your spouse have! Maybe small, but as I see - you found a place for everything! Loved to look at detailed views - all these tools, supplies, drawers and papers! Now I have feeling that I have been there!
Oh, and view with snow! I miss the snow and winter so much! There was only two cold days with snow in Latvia this winter. But this is a northern country, I need snow as an air I breathe.!
Mim,
I would say it's all because Rob is much bigger than me, but you know better. :-}
Yup, my spouse's studio is much bigger than mine, but way more cramped. Mine uncramped because of last year's flood - a forced uncramping which turned out for the better. But back to you, how did that happen, Dan? Do tell.
