I just reorganized my artspace to make more room for more works in progress. 1 Reply

I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

Thanks Christine. It's not so bad... most of the time :)
We're in a 2 bedroom terraced house with no garden (it's an old mining town), so it is a bit of a squeeze, but needs must! We can't wait to be in our own place again... although I'd have to do more housework! :D

Today I have learnt that I mustn't clean my studio if I want to find things, and I think I want a U-shaped space too. And that we should be thankful for all the spaces we have, big or small or shared. Gee, Chris, you are inspiring, great to see before and afters of a frightful experience. Thanks for that.

Sarah & Mr - it doesn't matter how wonderful family is - it is still hard not having your own space to do with as you want & when you want. Is it a cottage you're sharing?  If so - don't know how you do it?  Everything is so small. Think you are amazing to be able to produce anything at all -

The only problem with filing is the out-of-sight, out-of-mind thing. At least that's how it works 100% of the time in these parts whenever I try it. How about shallow boxes that are easy to rummage through, kept on shelves?

Nancy, truth be told, although i started on the art space i digressed to other areas and only have piles. I'm stuck on the trashpo piles. Filing seems to be sacrilegious.

KDJ, the little tv's are promotional toys for a tv repair shop. Probably a Goodwill find. Video art was 'my thing' back in the day.

Alicia, i forgot you were doing that. Is it better, once you remember where everything is? I want to do it too, but dread the DAYS it will take. Will we see your general space now all fixed up? Hmm?

Alicia, those things are priceless!!!!  Well at least worth $2.25 + state tax.

The picture below captures The Studio at Piney Creek Acres, in all its messy glory! It's where all of my artwork originates.
