I work on many pieces simultaneously - not just mail art: paper, mixed media, collage, panels- and I had run out of space to place incomplete work as it dries. So I built a storage rack with many shelves, shown here in the back corner. Now my…Continue

Here's my artspace today, about like it usually looks. Semi-controlled chaos.

My portable DKult shrine travelled with me to camp (in Cook Forest, PA) where I created some great Trash Po over the weekend! Still can't locate the elusive leather thimble, though...

Spent the weekend at a Kantha Workshop - learning how to use this type of stitching - also used paint!

Would still kill for so much space Rebecca! Funny the working around others thing - when I was in school I never thought about it. Then went to grad school after 10 yrs. of my own studio, and found it almost impossible to get anything done! Solved the prob. by switching my hrs around [nocturnal by nature so quite easy!] and working while everyone else slept.

Ah, the odd ways institutions make judgements... Unfortunately, we often believe them when we're young - only as adults do we realize they often don't have a clue!

Thanks for sharing Guido - I just love your creatures! [Still have a prob. w/ bright colours though...%_^]

Turfed out of studio and back to familiar kitchen table while Figgy prepares for art exam.  I have spent the past few hours catching up on writing the backlog of cards for mailart 365 and then numbering and recording... I envy your systems and must institute!

Perhaps you can help me...I find this strange, the concept of a limited amount of time to create meaningful art in a space with lots of other people that is not commercial, as a way of testing who is best in the UK high school system at ART. Funny too that Figgy (my daughter) needs at least a long weekend to experiment and my whole studio to experiment in before the exam. I have enjoyed the cramped space and chaos of the kitchen table in a funny way.

OOPs, more for Cleo that anyone else’s eyes: finished stage with added colors of larger painting: To rebel is a question of fertility! Tarantino seemed to agree and sleeps on the painting right now while it is still drying ...
