Love your idea though JJ - if they don't like it, immersion therapy might work!

That is terrible - there are actually people who refuse to register a card?! What a nasty thing to do.

I've never had people outright refuse to register, but when I look at the cards that expire (I am top sender in the US, so I have lots and lots of expired cards) the majority of those not registered were homemade. I don't send homemade anymore unless the recipient specifically requests handmade. Postage is too expensive to throw away on a card that won't be appreciated. I've got plenty of commercial views that those silly folk who want "real" postcards will appreciate.

Wooooo!!! Camel !! I love your attitude. I used to respect peoples weird request to NOT get a handmade card, but now I just work extra hard to make sure I make them an awesome one so they can't help but love it. I think it's working. So far they've all thanked me for the card.

Postmuse, have you had people refuse to register? That's terrible. If that happens to any of us I think we should share that persons address and all flood their mailbox with beautiful handmade cards...heehee.

nope...
never had a non-registered card...
that is because my cards are super cool i guess

Postcrossing is a random thing - therefore - everything I send is random - I could care less what people think & in fact had some users state that they changed their mind about handmades cause of me...

I do rarely send out a pre-fab but try to avoid it

Do it & screw them - we are artists - not sheeple!

The amount you can send increases now, but back in the beginning it didn't. I can have 49 cards traveling on my Zmrzlina account, so that works well for me :-)

Camel O-Rama ... have you had cards not get registered because the recipient specifies "no handmade" on their profile?
Comment by Poison Label Productions on November 22, 2010 at 10:14pm
ur amount u can send out increases with the # of cards u send out...

there are now two groups that i created for the exchange of handmades - 1 on flickr & 1 on facebook...

i send handmades to everyone - whether they want them or not...

I love Postcrossing, but don't send many handmade cards via that site. When I do, they are not typically favorited, so I guess that's why I shy away.

I am Zmrzlina (http://www.postcrossing.com/user/Zmrzlina), and PostMuse, and a few other profiles. Back in the beginning users could never have more than 5 postcards traveling, so some created multiple profiles in order to have more traveling postcards. I only keep Zmrzlina active now, and occasionally send out a few cards on PostMuse.

Thanks Camel...

i put everything on flickr...
There is some 15,000 items in my flickr now so that fact should be obvious.

since handmade cards are particular & postcrossers certainly can be particular about what they receive - I post all my sent/rcvd cards there & post all my cards available for direct swaps there also...

I do not however post my "purchased" cards up there until they are sent...
i hate purchased cards unless they are truly unique.

Laura has a great blog (Thanks 4 following L.) and a new friend of mine (andytgeezer) also has a spectacular blog - how else are we to expose the world to our art?
