MANHOLE COVER LOVERS

There must be billions of them in the world. We pass them every day. We walk on them. We do not take any notice of them. They are heavy, and usually made of cast iron. They come in many different shapes, sizes and patterns. Look, and you will find them everywhere.

What are they? MANHOLE COVERS, that provide access to local service systems such as water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications.

Post photos of any interesting ones you find here.

TOMORROW IS the 2nd International Manhole Cover Day-- Saturday 31 May, 2025

It's the time of the year to raise global awareness of Manhole Covers. They are largely ignored even though we walk, drive and cycle over them every day. And so on the 2nd International Manhole Cover Day -- Saturday 31 May TOMORROW-- please send me a photo of a Manhole Cover near your house, apartment, villa, ranch, tent, palace, igloo or château.

A photo exhibition featuring these Manhole Covers will be held in the South of France later this year.

Thank you.
