Mail-Art Statements

Beginning 2009 I published the book "Mail-Art Statements Collection" in which I collected all my writings and statements connected to this topic in one book. Roland started a group to circulate a booklet. Here you can directly publish your statements

Mail-Art seems to be still very alive and kicking.

a rubber soul or better yet 2 rubber souls per human lol ummm Gik not sure I know the words to answer the 2 soul statement..in my way as a native american I have spirituality and we see all things as having a spirit...religion in many cases see`s human kind as having a soul but not tree`s,animals, grass etc. etc.how ever Rudd see`s mail art as having a soul making the way he looks at the world as very special..when I said what i said I was talking from a native american point of vew...where everything that is has a spirit of some kind..again as I`ve said many times we are all of us different..but just different, not wrong...what works for some may not work for others..so mail artists meet over these talking wires and we all have our special baskets to share with each other..some of us have religion, some have spirituality, some have something else..in the end its all good..its all mail art

Interesting, what type of soul I have then?

So mail art has 2 souls: a-soul and b-soul! 8-)

Marvelous but the painting was 48 inches there is a limit of 105 inches in circumference, UPS and Fed Ex won't take original art. US Mail will, no damage at all and I mailed to museums shows in Maimi, Alabama, NYC and Massachusetts. Colorado and California I had to ship, Artec.

While I hesitate to mess with the aleatory amusement from my saying that "mail art has soul. Or b"....what I meant to say was that "mail art has soul. Or a soul."

Now if <.b>that didn't work out right... fuhgeddabout it.

I just gotta say my question about whether mail art is inside the envelope or outside the envelope--like the perennial one about whether petting is inside the blouse or outside the blouse--was indeed kinda lame, but I love the rap that unraveled--espec. re. the ontological possibility of the existence of fraudulent (inauthentic?) mail art, and the resounding statement that mail art has soul. Or b. I dig that. Thanks, too, Gik for reassurances re. difficulty of being serious here, Jan-Willem for willingness to engage in angels-on-head-of-a-pin spins off the question (the hoary "artistic intentionality" issue, indeed!), Judy for the marvelous image of a 48-foot square painting weighing only 25 pounds that she was able to send through the mail =grin=, and to Ruud, of course, for being graciously leaderly. And of course, I thank the committee for... =gag= I'm outta here.
