Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

On the subject of customisation is everyone ok with it on blogger? I have used blogger for ages but would be happy to run it on word press if you wanted. Www.mailart365.com just points to wherever we want

If anyone would be kind enough to design the badge I'd be more than happy to put it up. Also if anyone is keen to get busy with the design I can assign admin rights. Would be cool to get it looking really nice before dec 1

I would like to put a badge (I think that is what it is called) that links to MailArt365 on my blog. I know there are applications to make such things, but I have absolutely no idea where to look. I'm not sure if it is important, but I use a Mac, and Firefox or Safari browser (always the most recent version of Safari ... a little behind on Firefox updates). I'd appreciate if anyone can get me pointed in the right direction. Thank you!

OK that's cool - I figure there must be a way to minimise peoples workload so wanted to let blogger do the hard work of filtering. Tagging is fine but I don't want to up the tech really. I'll keep looking into it

I really agree with you guys on this, I think the blog should document this project otherwise things could start becoming confusing on many levels!

I'd like to just see cards, and the process for making those card, that are specifically for the project featured on the mailart365 blog, but I'll happily go along with whatever is decided.

Another thing this project is going to kickstart is my "art-to-go" kit. I've been wanting to have a small bag with all the stuff I need to create a card on the go ... glue, scissors, inks, etc ... and since I know I will be creating at least a card a day, I will need to have all the stuff for when I'm traveling, which is often. Of course, this means I need a fun small bag to store it all in, so I'll be doing some shopping online while riding to our holiday destination tomorrow. It's a three hour drive, and it will be rainy ... best to keep my eyes occupied so I don't notice the crazy drivers all around us.

Oh sounds lovely Mim - are you there for long? Do we just send to your home address?

I think you're right - we all have our own blogs to post our received mailart. Patience has never been one of my strong points!

We've arrived at our holiday destination, 6 hours (including a stop for lunch and a stop to buy fresh apple cider) and I had lots of time to think about this project. Good thinking. I'm happily excited about start date. I think the blog should be only for MA that we make during our year of the project. If we receive from someone during this project, we can add a comment to their post, saying we received it. The other thing I was thinking about was that I would make, as part of the project, a concerted effort to use up the collage materials that I have cut up/torn up already in my studio. And i have a lot of that. Tins full, drawers full, shelves full. So long for now from lovely, chilly, suburban New Jersey, USA.

I'm happy for mailart 365 to contain sent and received mailart as long as you personally make 365 pieces. What does everyone else think? Should this purely be a showcase of your own stuff? I want everyone really to be free to express what they like on the blog, so don't let this discussion in any way be like laying out rules! I just want to hear opinion
