Even though it makes sense that we can look on each others profiles, you may want to add your address here and any blogs or other accounts you want highlighted. This way it's in a closed environment and we all get to share.

What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

I once arranged to meet a British man for cocktails and it was the first time we had met face to face, so I was describing my outfit on the phone. When I told him I was wearing "black pants" there was dead silence on the other end of the line. I didn't learn until later what "pants" refers to in England.

Mufflers?! I've never heard that one! A scarf is a scarf here my friend! Ear muffs are those things you put on your ears though, if that's what you mean

Phew. (I must say I still find it weird that you guys called trousers "pants")

Thanks Katerina!

I feel a little behind as so many of you have posted your mailart drawers - so here's mine!

Papers and scraps on the bottom, rubber stamps on the top. Looking forward to getting inky...

I'll look at making more exciting (and colour) badges as we go along.

About the blog - I was thinking I might alter it a little to display thumbnails of 10 posts on the front page, as I think it would be really harsh to have your posts pushed off the front page of the blog as other people post up. I'll have a little tinker and see what I can come up with

Nice one Andy!

Less than 24 hours to go and looks like everyone is really getting excited :)

The font on that badge is fantastic! Gorgeous Andy.
I went to a junk shop this weekend and scored heaps of matte board and foamcore and have just spent the last few hours(whew!) cutting it into mailable sizes and organizing my other supplies somewhat. Not a bad way to enjoy a warm spring rainy day.
I'd love to muster the organizational power of Kiera. I'll admit the making of the works is somewhat daunting but somehow I find the posting everyday much more intimidating and less fun. I'll try to follow you suggestions on that Kiera, thanks.

It looks good Andy. How about a bit-o-color?

I have learned to be organized because I have so many different commitments. If I'm going to do this project, work as a secondary school teacher, curate a mail art show, try to develop a career as an artist and make time for a social life I need to stay organized!
