What's your default? 7 Replies

Because my friend Matt asked me this the other night, I had to think about it. His is painting a blue sky and some clouds, then he waits to see if anything more comes. His skull for Skull Appreciation Day was just the blue sky & clouds cause…Continue

Who will you send  your first piece of mail to? I've been thinking about this a lot. Will it be someone in this group? Will it be one of the many mail artists I've exchanged MA with over the years? Will it be one of my letter writing friends, or my…Continue

Significant dates for the diary (some might say...) 41 Replies

McFloozy mentioned Quack Day in February and I had a message from Valentine Mark Hermann telling me of an anniversary in February. I figured that it would be best to put all the dates in one discussion, so anyone could contribute and we could all…Continue

Yes I was thinking that too Mabb - How quickly the moths have disguised themselves to fit into the office environment! I wonder how many other creepy crawlies I have in my office disguised as office furniture or stationary. Definitely anything disguised as stationery would have a much better chance of survival in my house I can tell you

Good morning, folks, from EST.  Thanks, prettylilly, for your compliment and welcome!  Andy - love that moth/pencil shaving - who knew moths had adapted their camo to the office?!  I am going to read the article asap - that is very exciting!

and it's far less disgusting than when the kids would smash lightning bugs against the concrete.

but then, i've never really seen adults do this sort of thing,

so it's up for grabs.

as far as i know it's not animal abuse to do things to moths.

i mean kids do it all the time, i never once seen them get arrested.

I sometimes have to remind myself that just because it's pretty doesn't mean that it can be made into mailart.

Take this as an example. Yesterday I saw this on the floor of the office and thought "Pencil shaving - that will look good on a postcard!" Was really looking forward to sticking it down, when I realised it was a cunningly disguised moth.

Personally I think it's somewhat unethical to use live animals in mailart. What does everyone else think?
