As of today, 6,060 people have taken the time to view the work that has been submitted to the 12-12-12 End of the World Project!  The project is still open so I would like to encourage people who haven't submitted work to do so.  Anyone who has already submitted something is welcome to send as many pieces as you like!  Thanks to everyone who has participated  - artists and viewers!

New IUOMA member Jennifer Falkowski submitted a collage - check it out at the RSA feed above.  Simon Warren is continuing his End of the World series ... it's a fascinating preview of the end of life in London!  Also above on RSA feed.

Love the video... great stuff, Eddy.  Maybe you can also send it to the ABAD Seattle show... why wait till 12.12.12. when you can get it cooking in 11.11.11 ?

Anyway, really enjoyed it.

This is a beautiful video that was included in the project by videographer Eddy Editz who lives in the Netherlands.

This video was made over four days. I wrote down a initial concept and started to build the images in After Effects. I first had to film myself lying down on a small chair against two green screens. Then I started to put together the scene in AE. I first wanted to put all sorts of images from my life as the walls of a virtual room in which I floated but then I tried using the TextAnarchy plugin from Red Giant that I have and I liked the look of it so much that I restricted the background images into just two videos.

On the left you can just see a skyline view of Oxford (England) behind the text and on the right is the full moon with clouds. I thought the whole Matrix idea fit the subject really well as we all live in an unseen but noticeable matrix of rules provided by our governments.

Also the fact that I blur out when I get to close to the camera has a meaning to it. The idea is that I don't let people get too close to me unless I trust them enough.

Hello all, for your information, the next chapter of the global A Book About Death exhibition will take place in Seattle, Washington on 11.11.11. (for those of you who like interesting numbers).

To see what's happening and the art call (yes it's an open call), please visit http://abookaboutdeatharchive.blogspot.com/  or go directly to the Seattle ABAD website.

For those of you unfamiliar with the project, please enjoy this short movie about the exhibition that took place in New York City at the Emily Harvey Foundation two years ago: A BOOK ABOUT DEATH : THE MOVIE.

Best,

Matthew
