This artistamp sheet presents my artistic interpretation of the historical heritage of Alba Iulia, combining iconic landmarks from the Alba Carolina Citadel with symbolic scenes inspired by the Great Union of 1918, one of the defining moments in Romanian history.

The composition includes architectural elements, fortress gates, historical monuments, and scenes connected to the national gathering and unification of the Romanian principalities in Alba Iulia in 1918. Through this visual narrative, the sheet becomes both an artistic philatelic composition and a miniature historical panorama dedicated to Romanian cultural identity.

The artistamps are manually perforated using a roulette-style perforation technique, giving the sheet a handcrafted philatelic appearance while preserving the spirit of an independent artistic edition.

The entire composition was created after my original ink drawings on paper. The visual language is inspired by traditional engraving and vintage philatelic illustration, using monochrome linework, expressive hatching, and detailed pen-and-ink textures reminiscent of historical printmaking techniques.

The ornamental borders and balanced layout reinforce the atmosphere of a commemorative philatelic issue, while the handmade execution places the work within the contemporary tradition of mail art and artistamp culture.

Fanstastic piece and well described.  I like the "period" ornamentation on the border which completes the setting of this print.
