The Windmills Of Your Mind is a collaborative art book with various interpretations of the eponymous song. The idea originated with Katerina mailing this booklet to Cheryl, and it all started rolling.
The windmills of Katerina's mind are colorful and sparkling and I imagine them twirling incessantly. But then she includes those quiet and slow old windmills in beautiful USA stamps, and I now know that those are equally important. Oh yes they are... Lyrics are printed on the fragile tracing paper that I know form the Ithaca booklet, and it works equally well here. This book is going to be a fab, I can tell. Thank you so much Katerina!

Thank you, Marie, a beautiful blog...looks so "alive" on the computer screen! Yes, the "circles" are sliced lemons and kiwi fruit, sliced lemon prints on the envelopes, too. There are also sliced onion prints glued inside. The first mail art with the lyrics to "Windmills of your mind" with onion prints went to Richard Canard back in 2009! Then when I saw the blog of Cheryl's work, and the words stamped on her envelope, I knew I found another understanding "fan" of this song/lyrics/film!
.... and now we are 10...if not more!
The string that binds the pages can easily be removed for our book binding.
I just "automatically" string the rice paper to the other pages as glue makes a mess ;-(
Now, all the boekies have different printed/painted covers, Marie has one with the lemon print "Circles".
But what surprises are for the others?
To be honest I haven't heard about that song until Cheryl sent me the "Circles of My Mice" envelopes. And even then it took me a while. During the Holiday I read "The man who mistook his wife for a hat - a gripping journey through the recesses of human mind" (Oliver Sacks). My plan was to sort of empty the book from most of its pages, replace them with my mice's circles with annotations of what might have been going on in their mind, and tweak the title by replacing "human" with "mice" :-)) My contribution looks quite different now, and it's on it's way to you, Cheryl and Sloan. Bifidus :-(((
Those look like slices of fruit, yes. Katerina if you read this?
Great blog - great work - YES!! This is going to be an excellent!! That song - I heard it first in French, and without even understanding the words KNEW it would be one of The Ones. Remember Circles of Mice minds Marie - right back then it was tickling :-)
The artists doing the project are, Marie, Lesley Magwood Fraser, Lauriana Glenny, Test Tower, De Villo, Katerina and Cheryl.
I thought I said no binding??? It would be easier to do them all at the end - but no problem, will see the results when I get them. I received Lesley's yesterday - FAB!!! Bifidus, you were invited!!!
