This book is a flower blossoming in my hands as I turn each page. The French stamps and text combined with Japanese paper and images make this a beautiful work. It is Marie it is a story. Graceful and complex. A book strong and fragile at the same time. How is that possible? I like the muted colors of the paper and the images, the vertical text of Japanese balanced with the horizontal lines of the French text. The layers of pages, like thoughts that cannot be contained in a neat and tidy way. Immediately intimate. Those baby paper clips, the thin red thread are delicate embellishments. Marie has an innate talent for visual composition as well as an appealing ear for verse:
