Received from Ruud Janssen, Netherlands--Fluxus word

Ruud invented the Fluxus word THOPIESIS and, since I am the recipient of it, I'm to determine its meaning Here goes:

Thopiesis--a condition in which mail art is the antithesis of mob mentality.

Used in a sentence: One may suspect thopiesis in IUOMA members’ work  if their mail art acts like a knife, like Shiva the Destroyer, toppling idols and cutting everything down to the moment.

As recipient of the word THOPIESIS, it is my duty to promote it worldwide as a new word. A worthy goal for the new year. Thanks, Ruud!

I keep coming back to this. You received a great Fluxus word, Bifidus. I saw a discussion on Open Fluxus (a thread going back to 2008 I believe) where Ruud had posted some concrete poetry from Russia (?) and the group was talking about "typewriter art." I think it might be vispo or concrete poetry from several decades ago you have, but can't be sure. I haven't seen anything exactly like it; maybe something found, but intriguing. Really interesting. I'll say again Ruud's mail-art is outstanding and you did just a perfect blog to present it.

I have no idea what the the b & W images are, but I think mail art is all about sacred play, and this piece is no exception.

Wow Bifidus, one of your best ever, IMHO. Is that? What is that cool stuff in b&w?
