Natalie is collecting hand drawn maps for her project, I'll try my best to send her something back. I'm thinking of something about the intricate Tokyo metro, let's see.
Thanks for the invite and the map to the studio, Natalie!

Thanks Marie for spreading the word, this is great! I love crumbly old maps too, looking forward to your response.

Yes, he could be made "Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur"! :-)

A nice dysfunctional family, we even got a Cute Little Pet :-))

Funny story about your brush with royalty already. Even though you thought it was funny, I understand now why it could bring back memories. Now I'm looking forward to see what you do with maps. No pressure. Big Bro, Big Sis, and CasSandra. We're becoming a dysfunctional family.

My map invite arrived - so as soon as I am done I will leave you a pic :-) I wonder how 1984 would have changed if there had been Big Sister instead?? Somehow does NOT have the same ominous ring...  Any chance of DVS applying for a French knighthood?? Do they have things like that???

Big Sis and Big Bro, I look up to you both, you have a great technique and are experienced layeringists. If I find the right starting material I think I can do something with what you just said, merci mes chers!

Sloan, the Antonette thing was funny. I once was called Marie Antoinette by the bl... French administration on an official document, that was really upsetting and not funny at all. But Antonette made me laugh.

Marie, I agree entirely with Big Sis. For instance, I overlay asemic writing on maps. I know that's not what you do, but it illustrates the point. Please don't be concerned about making it look old or new; that will take care of itself, I think. On the issue of Marie Antonette: It was just too good to let pass. I imagined the Grigster having a group - like a girl band - called the Antonettes. Only the model was really the Manson Family. I know you are not an Antonette.

Oh, thanks  dear HS, that's a great idea. Now I'm torn, should I make an old make look new or a new map look old. I check out my stock of maps.

Sweet Pea, draw over existing maps - layering - thats the key :-)

Thanks Sloan! Yes, I love maps, old dirty crumbly vintage maps even more so. Drawing is not really my forte so I'm not quite sure what to do yet, but new things are always exciting!

(CasSandDra says your day will be wonderful...)

Hi Marie, thanks for posting work by Natalie - I haven't seen enough of it. She's an IUOMA friend but still mostly a mystery. I always like mail-art with maps. You've done some nice things in this area yourself.
