More Proof that the world is Topsy Turvy

Mail is coming back to me instead of being delivered to the recipient, Is this a common phenom particular to Mail Artists?

Here are two examples which I have mailed again and hope they reach their intended.

Dear Sam, Richard, Katerina, and res, thank you so much for your thoughtful responses and advice. It's nice to know why it may happen and that there may be ways to have it happen less often. Thanks again.

Have to agree with Richard, as some rubber stamping that I did in the past made the "postal machine" read it as a "return to sender" :-( Lots of waste of precious postage. So now I try to only rubber stamp on the non-address side of the envelope.

Also, check to clearly write State apprev. and Zip Code together, and on a lower line,

so that the postal machine reads it ok ...

(we know there are no humans working and watching , right?)

example: IL 60031,

or in my case: 54249 GREECE (in caps! so it doesn't go to Fiji Island :-)

17.02.20 Dare Ms. Carmen Kennedy,  ... the same sort of thing has happened to me me a few times (over the years) as well. It's just a guess, but possibly the reason this happens is because of  the  "pointed finger  hand rubber stamp symbol" (which I have utilized as well) . The U.S. Post Office has used a somewhat similar symbol also containing the term "return  to sender" when unable to deliver a item with an address problem ...Maybe, ...just maybe the items pictured here were quickly misread  by p.o. personnel  & shuffled back to you.  I view such a situation as" just a part of the game" & or "the way the rubber stamp bounces" as I have no plans to give up my Rubber Stamp "pointing finger". Better luck next time & all best to you. SinCelery. Richard Canard

hi c! yes i had a few instances of this occurring this past summer. there is however a way 2 remedy this: rather than use ur return address, use the recipients (assuming it is in fact, correct) that way, it will arrive @ its desired destination regardless.
