Alas Robin, no, but an interesting guess. I don't think that Darlington Civic Theatre is 'Civic' anymore -- the local Council had to cut-back on all sorts of 'non-essential ' expenditure, and the last I heard of it the Civic was to be sold off to a private company.

The Art Centre got closed down completely.

In this financial context, Darlington Borough Council could never afford me...and my 3 meals a day, tea, wine, etc.

Bonjour Heleen! Bonjour IUOMA!

That's an interesting list. My replies are...

Paris, close to the Siene Seine (Artist-in-reSIdENcE)? No, but as he's 'occupied' my bird table, I'm sure that I could 'occupy' his, er, ...cave?

Irish Pub in Maastricht? No, but I did play in a band there once. Sadly the event has been long forgotten by all of those fortunate enough to attend

RIjksmuseum in Amsterdam? Well, they did ask, but I had to turn them down on the grounds that they weren't really good enough for me... he says.... modestly

At Katerina's in Thessaloniki? Now that would be nice...and she might even do my ironing...but No

At home in Sigean? Now what made you think of that?

In the Sigean Castle (Chateau)?  No. They would have to make me Duc de Sigean before I would even consider this

In the Manchester soccer stadion? City or United's? If the latter, I could hold a joint exhibition with Louis, Danny and Rob, but it might not be of art. We could play 4-3-2-1-0 (and I would be the 0)

In the Darlington soccer stadion? Very sadly, Darlington -- now Darlington (1873) -- no longer has a stadium, and nor does it even play in Darlington. Perhaps that's why they are currently in the 9th Division (but top of it)

At Ruud's in Breda? Do. Hello Ruud, we"re a-coming! Does he have Artists-in-Residence there? if so, we should ALL apply

In the Museum of the Image in Breda? No, I'm already there (on a permanent basis)

In a ship sailing over the seven seas? No... I've lent one of Putin's cronies my luxury yacht -- he used it in the invasion of the Ukraine -- but he won't give it back to me untill the EU lifts its sanctions on Russia, so I can't go sailing anywhere at the moment.

Bearing in mind, the unrest that has occured following FIFA's decision not to publish the report on it's enquiry into the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, it has been decided that the FULL REPORT of the decision to appoint me Artist-in-Residence will be published.

TOMORROW.

Watch this space....

02.12.14 Dare Mark Her Valentine, I guess I'll guess again. You are moving your studio work place from the back room to the entire house because membership & the demands of the IUOMA have already taking over the whole house anyway??? That's it ...isn't it? Richard

I'm working out what I'll get in my Artist-in-Residency period. It also includes:

* food for the cats

* laundry (but not ironing)

* weekends off

Who could ask for anything more?

Go on.....keep guessing where I'm going to be Artist-in-Residence? You're not trying hard enough, in spite of gthe clues I'm giving you

I've been working out what I'll get in my Artist-in-Residency period. So far it includes:

* 3 meals a day, plus unlimited cups of coffee, and quite a lot of red wine

* a large working space

* provision of paints, brushes, canvasses, etc

* chance of 3+ local exhibitions

* ....and more things to be agreed (I hope), tomorrow.

Go on.....keep guessing where I'm going to be Artist-in-Residence
