From Marie Wintzer - The Complete Series - A Line

I don’t think there is much that Marie has not covered about A Line in terms of definitions in this work.  I am VERY pleased to have received the full set.

Albert Einstein said that an attempt at visualizing the fourth dimension was like taking a point, stretching it into a line, curling it into a circle, twisting it into a sphere and punching through the sphere – welcome to another dimension – a world of beautiful photographs that come in full circle  - Marie’s Lines.

As I  could not think of any sort of line she has not covered I thought of tackling this from other sorts of lines?

How about this one?

By painting colors and lines and forms seen in quickened mood I was seeking to make this mood vibrate as a phonograph does. This was the origin of the paintings in The Frieze of Life.

Edvard Munch.  This seems very much to be the mood of Maries photographs.

Paul Klee said that drawing is simply a line going for a walk.  Marie's lines are on track.

And here’s a goodie – men are governed by lines of intellect – women, by curves of emotion (James Joyce). Ok - I'm not standing in the line of fire for that one - its not my line... but I like the curves of emotion bit.

This is one of my favorite photographs of Marie's - its the visual language on text in knots - in a very physical sense.

I always know my lines.

Vivien Leigh

Sometimes I dread the truth of the lines I say. But the dread must never show.

Vivien Leigh

And in conclusion, to celebrate the whimsical, ethereal nature of Marie’s work:

Life and death are one thread, the same line viewed from different sides. Lao Tzu

P.S

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Steven Wright

P.S.S.

If all the ways I have been along were marked on a map and joined up with a line, it might represent a minotaur.

Pablo Picasso

P.S.S.S.

I'm bored with that line. I never use it anymore. My new line is "In 15 minutes everybody will be famous."

Hello everyone :-) - for sure this is a GREAT series - to be continued by The Sweet Pea??? I sure hope so.  Kat - thank you, Dark Wall -  go look for pegs, Nancy - FIVE stars??? :-))! Dean, reading between the lines, I'd opt for framing - take down the Ghastly and put these up - thats a good end of the line - like Kent?  De Villo - its a relic you will receive - I heard that via the psychic-chick.  Carina - ask nicely - you may get one :-) XX

The concept is brilliant, and Marie carries it out beautifully (no surprise there). Line: there will probably always be more to mine. So I hope we'll see more. Wonderfully blogged, Cheryl--I hadn't seen most except for the one she sent me, so your presentation needed to guide, and you did a 5 star job of it. Thank you ~

Bravo Cheryl.  I don't think I could have blogged that any better.  So far it has inspired me to no end.  Actually to the "end of the line", and "between the lines" to be exact.

I'm hoping to show my version to a few friends soon.  Or actually frame them.

Big Bravo Marie, you already know what I think.

Cheryl, you've done a great thing here bringing the line pieces together. This is an amazing vispo sequence.

Dark wall and the Mink Rancher want to find some way to get it on the MinXus-Lynxus blog as it stands among the great MinXus relics of the world.

What a successful combination of a blog, art and quote's! Thank you both.

Volume 2, why not! I think those birds can be milked a little bit further :-)

VISPHO - yes - we say 'niggy-oobs' here - well, I suppose the spelling is debatable - it means 'Its Mine' - that phrase is taking me back some! Series are a wonderful thing - they allow you to keep at a subject until you're DONE! And then because its a series you can go back - like Volume 2 :-) - glad you like the blog - I'm severely chuffed with A LinE!
