Feeling the Love... from Valentine's Day

Many fond embraces from beautiful postal friends arrived for the celebration of St. Valentine's Day...

Did those hearts grab your attention?? That was actually a postcard from my Aunt Sally, who regularly sends me creative and unusual postcards... postal surprises must run in the family!

From Pretty Lily Sue, a super beautiful Valentines using archival papers and material I love that Franklin D. Roosevelt accompanied the envelope:

From Katerina Nikoltsou in Greece, a Valentine-colored landscape and a new (?) carved Valentine stamp:

The paper that Katerina used and altered for this landscape has a "furry" texture!  I have never felt such soft and snuggly paper before (not that I snuggled with it...).

Jon Foster send one of his brilliant tape transfer creations with a couple toodling around in an antique buggy.  Just in case I had a broken heart, Jon wished me, "Get Well Soon!"  No broken hearts here; just lots of warm hugs through the mail!

And brrrrrr....  the "coldest" Valentine I got was from Svenja Wahl... but it gave me a warm glow inside anyway!

Svenja made this card--also out of archival material--just for me, inspired by the snowy weather that Seattle received just a couple weeks ago.  I LOVE this artwork of a snowy mountain "in der Schweiz."  I just finished a novel called "West of Here" by a local Seattle author--Jonathan Evison.  It was a pretty good read, but uncannily, the artwork on the cover of the book had a striking resemblance to Svenja's postcard mountain!!...

That's a depiction of Mount Olympus located on the Olympic Peninsula to the left. And Svenja's Swiss mountain on the right.

Thank you for all your greetings and art, everyone!

What a "heart-filled" blog, Thom! Many thanks, and glad you like the not-so-new ΑΓΑΠΗ (LOVE) stamp...I use it every Valentine season :-) You have some beautiful "love" mail art, 'tis an honor to be amongst the loved ones.

In /near Seattle, there is a "Mount Olympus"? There is THE Mt. Olympus across the bay from me here in Greece You must come one day to see it! xxx
