June 9, 2015 - Jesse Edwards is a marvelous correspondent, a gifted artist and a fount of knowledge concerning the network. He has been traveling recently – surfaced in Spain last week briefly – but has managed to send me some great cards consistently that I will gradually document.

Before rumors sprout like tendrils: I am not Moan Lisa. Jesse Edwards is just being funny. Many thanks to JesArchives!

Richard, Jesse has been a real find for me. I appreciate him, indeed, because he is both inventive and playful. Are they the same?

I think of the deconstructionist philosophers at the end of the 20th century. They claimed - Derrida especially - that their logic-bending rhetoric (inventive) was the result of linguistic play. They seemed very dour and incapable of humor to me.

Maybe you remember Bob Black, an anarchist who was very active in the network and whose The Abolition of Work was a very popular pamphlet that was constantly circulated. He had some scheme where, through revolution, all work would be transformed into play.

So I guess maybe sometimes they are the same. (Have I somehow managed to replace "inventiveness" with "work"?) For Jesse, I think they are.

09.06.15 Dare Moan Sloan, ...Two things I admire most about Jesse Edwards are his inventiveness & his playfulness...or are those sorta the same thing???   I'm serious.  Richard
