Nonlocal on a strike

All my sympathies with the cause for this strike, which I can't and won't join.

Thanks non, and all the best!

Look what came from Zorica!

Rice paper travels lightly. I don't know what a cdr print is, but it's a nice one.…

Nothing is never enough, or is it too much?

Thanks non! Nothing arrived yesterday.

Apparently there was something called "nothingism" or, approximately, nitchevokij in Russia around the time of Dada. Does anyone know about them?

An essay on generative AI (with brief mention of mail art)

I just got my long critique of generative AI published in ArtStyle. Might be of interest to some of you. At the end I quote Nonlocal Variable.

From Isabelle Dehennin

These cards and some more arrived this week. Thanks Isabelle!

Top: (optional neck tilt to view properly): We don't own a telephone. Yes, I can see precisely how happy these ladies would be if they had one. Bottom left: Vivre d'humour et de graine folle, it says on the back. Looks almost like the wheat I have growing outdoors. Right: een mens…

Postcard from Zorica

Thanks Zorica! It looks interactive, but I doubt it's really a digital app.

From Nonlocal Variable

This and a lot more arrived earlier this week and I haven't even read all of it yet. Thanks non! Much appreciated.

From our dadaist colleagues

This is what jumped out of my mail box yesterday from StradaDa:

Not familiar, but I'll look out for her. Is there a bounty?

Thank you Giovanni and…

Outgoing, looking through the window

Posted today, but apparently there are some holidays next week so we'll see when it arrives.

I like to reuse those envelopes with windows, usually reserved for officialdom.

Kreiseln: documentation well received

I too use to hang prints on a clothes line like that on my exhibitions.

Thanks for the catalogue!

Thanks Deb for documentation!

I also enjoyed the other card with the intricate detailed motive very much. And I'm beginning to feel more like an outsider for real now. Running out of stamps soon and the 2G network being turned off today my phone no longer works.

From Kiki

These came today.

Telephone on landline was a really good idea. You didn't have to write text messages, no stupid apps to stalk your whereabouts, and inside it had real bells.

Thanks Kiki!

Received the Circulaire 132 and catalogue from Lutz Anders

Zine #454 arrived yesterday. Delicately scotched and glued together, a beautiful document.

https://circulaire132.blogspot.com/

You realise that 25 copies is definitely mass communication when you make those copies by hand, like a monk in a medieval monastery.

And also the catalogue from Lutz Anders' Change / Veränderung exhibition came yesterday.

I'm beginning to recognise a few…

Project Space Byi

This is part of the Wrong Biennale which just opened a few days ago. This year's theme is AI, which I'm a bit weary of, although I do participate with mail art and a so-called math poem here:

https://space.rochallyi.com/

And I recognise at least one other IUOMA member among the contributions.

From Richard C. All fake!

What kind of a forgery is this supposed to be? Reminds me of that study by Bruner & Postman (sic) in 1949 where they briefly flashed incongruous playing cards, such as black hearts or red spades. That really messed up the test subjects' colour perception.

Thanks Richard! A letter is on its…

Bump - outgoing prints

Still a few days till the deadline for sending prints to Balikesir University in Turkey.
