Erni is such a prolific mail artist, so I have missed posting quite a few of his mailings. Here is one:…

A huge envelope arrived from Grigori Antonin - what a surprise! It contained a large double sided collage.
I am only showing a part of the two collages, because it is to big to fit in my A4 scanner. Lots of fun and mysterious messages to read and…

I have to apologize to Helen for not replying earlier. She was so very kind to send me not only a big bag of fun foam letters, including special packages with my name, but also a blobby postcard.
I love this image (is it a print or a stamp?) with visual instructions for handling mail on a separate piece of paper and on the envelope too.…

A first mail from La Marchesa, with a lovingly assembled collage of a green town watched by a musical moon, or is it the dutchess' country estate? Thank you, Marchesa your card arrived safely!

I received two mailings from Moan Lisa, which included in total two invitations to mail art calls, two postcards, and a print of the stamp that Moan Lisa made, referring to an up-and-coming mail artist.…

I realize that blog behindedness has become something like a chronic condition with me, and decided to embrace it. So I am trying to catch up with some mail that I received this year, I have not posted everything I received last year! I need amnesty.
Here is a very special lovely abstract drawing by Nancy, queen of rust, on black cardstock. Thank you!…

I was lucky to receive two letters from Katarina this year, in different colour palettes, blue and red. First a moody blue abstract collage, which I love. The envelope was decorated with a bug blue wave, the ocean being a never ending source of inspiration for K., who is lucky enough to live in Greece! The second letter contained a happy "heart mail art" just in time for Valentine's Day, believe it or not the only Valentine card I received this year. Thank you very much! …

Its been a while since I managed to blog my incoming mail, but this is a start. I thought I take a different approach and feature several pieces of mail art, with some common theme. So here we go.
Over this summer I received several pieces of mail, which pair up very nicely.
Firstly there is this pair of tape collages from Jon Foster. I love the colour composition, mostly orange, black and white, and the use of text and the…

I have not been on IUOMA for a while - time just flies. Just sending a quick hello - I have not fallen off the end of the earth, just been involved in a lot of real world stuff. I have also been doing some artsy things and even started playing with acrylic paint for the first in my life. I made two collaged/ hand stamped books for two different occasions (one for a wedding, the other one for a farewell) for friends, which were much appreciated. This would have not been possible without you…

Cristina kindly sent me the little altered prayer card which she offered a little while ago. Prayer cards have a long history and most likely are the predecessors of more modern collectables, like baseball cards. I love this little image of the Mother Godess, who is said to have appeared to three children in Fatima. Following my new and…

Here is the bookie I received from Vizma, from recent Trashpolitzer fame. This is a little masterpiece too.
It is a true labour of love with lots of tiny details, stamps, paper scraps such as musical notes and security envelope, cut out words from book pages, packaging tape, washi tape, coloured staples, gold leaf, a dried flower and an amazing selection of hilarious and beautiful rubber stamp prints. The envelope is made of a page from an atlas.…

This card made by David is brilliant. One side features a book cover, for a novel which contrary to David's vision I will never write. On the reverse side you can read "an excerpt from the book" including cartoon. I am amazed how David can fit a perfect short story on the back of a postcard and I love it. I showed it to my husband and I heard him chuckle from the other…

This book came without sender on the envelope. There is some special aura about it. It is - dare I say it - just so trashy, so I was pretty sure it must be from Diane, the queen of Trashpo. Wow, now I own a whole Diane Keys trash poetry anthology!
I have collected a few bits of trash I found for a day or two, but did not find it so interesting. Maybe the streets here in Vienna are just too clean. Maybe I just don't have the trashpo talent. But I love studying Diane's bookie,…

Erni is a mail art factory and generous sender, and I have received several pieces of mail art lately, which I want to show you here. I am also asking your help so please read to the end. I am not sure which item was in which envelope, but Erni might correct me if I got it muddled up.
Here is the first envelope with a large scale collage advertising Erniness: Homoeopathic Erniness for better health and looks. Erniness works! Yes, I am a believer.…

I received some fantastic mail lately, among them two trashbooks - one from Diane K. and one from Vizma, several pieces from Erni, collages, drawings and paintings from Svenja, Nancy, Cristina, Daria, MA Martha, Dean and Val, artistamps from J. Block and zine invitation from Jon, all of which I have not scanned and blogged yet. I just wanted to repeat my thanks and say how much I appreciate it all! I am quite busy right now with work and stuff, checking in on IUOMA only briefly once in a…

Quite a while ago Erni sent me a package with numerous items, which I have not blogged yet, partly because I lost some of the pictures I made. Currently I am only using my phone camera. Included in the package were some kitchen sponges as stuffing. Here they are.
I decided to play around with them on my kitchen table to make some Erni Bär Fan Art…

I am still lagging behind with blogging, and I don't know when I will be able to catch up, so I decided to upload the scans I made as photos, without further comment. Thank you so much, all of you!
I have been making and sending mail though! So something will be in your mailbox soon!
It has taken me quite a while to catch up with blogging and there are still a few more Erni related items to post. A few months ago Erni sent out an Eat and Pass package to Kate, which was then passed on to Marina, and then to me. I received it quite a while ago, but I did want to find the right time to document the opening and to day was the day!
As you can see…
