Received from Laurence Roberts, UK--Pictures cannot Burn

The Joy-Slinger is back with another bold and sassy piece of mail art. From the mix of cool and warm colors, to the stingray postage stamp and groovy maple leaf, this work is in the moment and all about zest for life.

Laurence also shares a compelling quote…

Received from Michalis Kotsaris, Greece--Monotype in Blue, Black, and White

There is a certain mood and atmosphere to this piece, the impression of a scene from a story told through color, shape, line, texture, and whispery-thin paper. I wish I had been there to watch it being made. I've also peeked at Michalis' website, which proves that monotype and collage possibilities are endless and that his work yields phenomenal results. …

Received from mim, USA--the letter S

Mim is one of the mailart 365 participants, and even though I am not, I feel lucky to be on the receiving end from time to time. And if I hadn't had to send something out requiring a security envelope today, I probably wouldn't have noticed that mim used the inside of a security envelope as the background for this collage. S is for soldiers and security of a nation perhaps,…

Ya Gotta See This!

David Stafford commented to me recently that the word Asemic sounded medical.  From that thought he created this ATC Supreme.  The best I've ever received in years of trading.  David is one funny man and very talented artist.  Thank you David!… Continue

The Haptic Werewolf Strikes Again - BIG time! Thanks Herr Ernie!

Always a great joy to see my friendly werewolf, and this time it arrived at my door! Good thing, too, as it is ugly rain and cold in Greece (this has been the weather since Feb. 12 and it is getting boooorrrrriiing!). So it was just the right size for the mailgal to deliver it and I did not have to go to the postoffice to claim it. Thank you Herr Ernie!

However,…

They hold up the world (very special ladies) - from Cheryl Penn

Today I give you four very special ladies. They might seem a little bit different at first, but they are one of us. And we are one of them.

Cheryl is a heck of a painter, and no less of a story teller. She is working on another volume of The Chronicles of Lyrehc, and those are some of the characters of the book. I think I would read such a book in one go and start all over again. And again. Looking at those paintings and reading Cheryl's words, I find a lot of that magic that I…

Received from Austin Wills James, USA--Deep in the Heart of Texas

The map of Texas is beautiful, James--I like the muted tones a lot and would love to know how you made it. Can't even begin to articulate how honored I am to see my name on the same piece of mail art as Bob Wills' name. Bob Wills is the Original Cowboy of Swing and… Continue
