Diane sent this very well made card - proof -  it journeyed  unscathed through the post. A feat in itself! Sandwiched between two cards is flimsy plastic - Diane's continual nod to TrashPo. Echoing the work of Marie Wintzer (I think Diane?) , the front is carefully stitched in color coded cotton. There is  slight mutilation to the black painted board where the stitches enter and leave. A memory mark.  Its a FAB for sure - thank you Diane :-) X …

The other day I picked up an envelope from Le Gristaire. It wasn't for me, it was for that rock star Mère Ubu (I know there is also a Père UHU walking around, laugh!). She doesn't live here anymore but I bumped into her at the supermarket today, she says thanks!…

Cheryl Penn communicates in a mysterious way, perhaps asking the viewer of her image to "read" it based on the knowledge background he/she brings to it. Combining torn text, a photo of text, sewing in red zig zag lines, she stamps the message: How Text Lies.

Overall her work is engaging, complex, and challenging. The work I show here came in a brightly painted envelop with Ruud Janssen's "zalop" on it. In addition, Cheryl treated me to an entire string of South African fish stamps…

Hallelujah for exciting artists like Rose McGuinn who carefully assembles an art book from varied pieces of paper that have been painted, cut and trimmed in exciting ways and hand sewn together.
